CAROLINA
“Plymouth Adventure,” the
story of the Mayflower’s perilciA
voyage to America, is continuing
at the Carolina theatre Thursday,
Friday and Saturday, December
18-19-20, at 8:15 p. m. with a
Saturday matinee at 3. A superb
cast has been assembled for this
lavish sea spectacle, including
Spencer Tracy as Captain Jones;
Gene Tierney as Dorothy Brad
ford; Leo Genn as Governor Brad
ford; Van Johnson as John Alden,
and Dawn Addams as Priscill?
Mullins. This is Dore Schary’s
personal production, possibly the
best film ever made about the
founding fathers of America, and
certainly one of the finer pictures
of the year.
The characterizations are of
genuine people reacting in a
thoroughly human way to a high
ly dramatic situation. Director
Brown has achieved perfect bal
ance of the exciting, realistic ad
venture episodes and interwoven
moments of romance. All are pho
tographed in glorious Technicolor.
