The mater nal grandmother, Mrs. Edgar A. Ewing of KnoUwood, left Wed nesday to visit her daughter and family. ' Brief Mention Pinehurst cottager John P. Marquand, who makes his sum mer home in Newburyport, Mass., is spending the month of June in Italy. Dr. and Mrs. DeWitt B. Nettle- toh of KnoUwood plan to leave today to spend the balance of the summer at their place in Milford, Conn. Mr. and Mrs. W. Paget Rigby left Friday for the North. He is on a business trip and she will visit their daughter, Mrs. George Kraus, and her family in Tarry- town, N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. Donald D. Cooke flew to London, England, last weekend and plan to return to their summer home in Watch Hill, R. I., the latter part of the week. Miss Emily Reeves completes her year’s work at Mary Bald win College in Staunton, Va., this week and will join her parents, Mr. and Mrs.' John M. Reeves, here on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. Peck of Odessa, Texas, are the guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. U. Richardson, for a short stay. Mr. and Mrs. Del Cameron and their children left Saturday for Laurel, Md. Dr. and Mrs. M. W. Marr are taking a short motor trip. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred N. Derou- in have returned from Cotter, Ark., where they have been vis iting her family. Returning with them for the month of Jime was Mrs. Derouin’s niece. Miss Cin dy Tinnon of Mountain Home, Ark. Mrs. Larry Lyerly, Jr., and her daughter Judith and son Jona than, are due back today after spendng two weeks in Fairfield,, Conn., with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. William T. Har vey are leaving Sunday for two or three weeks’ vacation. They plan to be in the gallery for the U. S. pen golf tournament at the Winged Foot Golf Club in Mam- aroneck, N. Y. and will visit in Darien, Conn., and Larchmont, N. Y. The Rev. Louis C. Melcher, Jr., of Chester, S. C., arrives today for a couple of days’ visit with his parents, the Rt. Rev. and Mrs. Louis C. Melcher. Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Lov ering spent the weekend at their Pawley’s Island, S. C., cottage with their house guests, Mrs. Francis Ray and Mrs. Holbrook Platt. Mrs. John L. Tonnelle left Tuesday for New York City after spending last week visiting the Countess of Carrick.
