The 70 men win this broad object ! ornmlateil reoreseutwl twpntv three counties of tin State and every congressional flisrict save one. The one congressional district not re present ei is known to have many a strong man within its borders who heartily ap prove, this movement, and were doubtless prevented from being present by the press of other engagements, or by illness. Many of the states best known progressive mem in fact, were Unable to be present because of such reasons, but wrote letters explaining their inability to be present and pledging their ear nest support. Strong men ivere in attendance from Ashe ville in the West, to Wilming ton in the eaxt. The four leading railroads wen- represen ted; and it is Mieved that With such cooperative effort as indicated in the begin ing, this organisation will aiccom pieh something worth while in placing North Carolina where ehe belongs on a plane with her resources. The earnestness with which the problem of the itate's fu ture was debated at the Ral eigh gathering. the stability and broad business experience Of the men participating in these discussions, and the character of the men selected to guide' the desti cities of the Organization through Hi dan gerous shoals to a permanent organization, all combine to assure the respect and cooper ation of every citizen who has the welfare of his stale at heart for the work now in hand ; and there is existent a foelin that i 'wiv public spirited citizen, as many of them have already done, will rally to thq support of theae men who are attempt ing a jrwat altruistic work for North Carolina that will prove of at least indirect in terest to every man, woman and child in her borders. This work it is conceded, will even tually mean a bigger better and more prosperous North Carolina. Therefore, it is argued, every citizen should I eel it a personal privilege to lend his aid. They are anted not to wait for personal in itation but to encourage the men who have been elected as officers of the temporary organ i .at ion which will le truly re presentative of the state and be. in fact, a state wide organ ization. The officers were elected to serve until (lie first annual meeting which is to be held on the first Tuesday in October, are: Henry A. l'a;;e, Aberdeen, President ; K. C. Uranson. 'hael Hill, A. K.
