"When you are prosperious, your teeming friends are numerous and obsequ'ous. But when folks begin to imagine that you are in real need of help, watch they try to get from under. Pleasant feeling to have some one whom you have always relied upon as a real friend mugwump. Of course, you can always say "Et tu, Brutej" but that gets monotonous after awhile. Somebody told us that if we didn't write an editorial to suit 'em they'd get somebody who would. Well, they're welcome. We got the reputation' of being the 'best edi torial writer in these parts ' since the 0110 and only Colonel Creecy. And we never heard of the Col onel or the editor of The Advance writing 'em as per dictation. Of course, there's always room at the bottom, and they can probably get the kind they want.
