The Par? Couvitf Tiy.'es, lyimxf^o, A', c Page S«ve^ ALWAYS Dare County Is the Foremost Land for Investment In Realty Values Steady strides have been made by Dare County since it was fori^ied, despite many handicaps of geography, of transportation and of finances. Yet, today the Dare County spirit is exemplified in the words: "‘Always up and going” more so now than ever. No county has met and mas tered so many handicaps as has this region, with its small population, but wonderful natural resources, and these very handicaps that have proven almost unsurmountable barriers to our people have today become the stepping stones to lead us into the limelight as America’s fore most seashore recreational center. The wide spreading waters of Dare County, which so long separated the citizens of its various com munities and kept away outsiders, who would have recognized and assisted the development of our ad vantages have been mastered to great extent by roads and bridges, and yet these wide waters have be come one of our great assets. Fishing, hunting and other outdoor sports are at their best in Dare Coun ty. And in summertime no more delightful place for the cottager or the vacationist can be found on the Atlantic coast. The opening lip of this vast region, so long unspoiled and so delightful today in its Frimaevel setting, means that wUbin a short while the coastal real estate of Dare County, particularly those sections served by good roads, will soon enter into an era of iinforseen prosperity. An investment in Dare County real estate may therefore be viewed as one of the soundest oppor tunities to cash in on advancing: realty values. There is no place on the coast that promises a greater re turn for a little money. Dare County and its officials do not want any spectacular boom. They do not v/ish to see any in flation of value beyond the ordinary itt a conservative way'"■ ^defined lines. Such invest ment we know is justified upon examination of past records. For illustration, many investments in 1 dts on one of our beaches three years ago has increased 150 per cent. That came in the course of normal growth of a seashore resort^area;^ In every section of the county sound opportunities for investment may be found. On the mainland where may be found the communities of Stumpy Point, Manns Harbor, East Lake and Mashoes, the great timber advantages and big game hunting, as well as huge commercial fisheries, all contrive to predict a future of rich promise for that section. The 85 miles of coastline frorei Caffey’s Inlet to Hatteras Inlet affords the finest fishing on the Atlantic Seaboard, both in the nature of sports, as well as commercial fishing, and no greater spot may be found where the benefits and enjoyment of wild fowl hunting are at their best. Along this coast will be found the communities of Duck, Kitty Hawk, Colington and Nags Head, Oregon Inlet, Rodanthe, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Cape Hatteras, Frisco, Hatteras and Hatteras Inlet Man- teo, the county seat, continues to grow andAvill become a greater business center as the county develops. Within a matter of ten years most of Dare County’s growth has taken place and what should ordinarily require 50 years elsewhere has been crowded into the short span of the decade since we have been made accessible to the outside world. Hence, we invite the outsider to come to Dare County to look things over, and we insist that no coastland in America offers a finer opportunity for investment than this great region where nature and history have combined to form so delightful a place.
