LEGUM THE FURNITURE MAN WITH A CONSCIENCE Largest Furniture Organization in Coastal Carolina Repeating the message that brought overwhelming response One of New York’s foremost department stores has helped to put thousands of men and women back to work. This service to wage- earners was so unusual and outstanding that Mr. Legum on a recent visit to New York decid ed to study the methods of this great store. Mr. Legum’s investigation showed that this big store sacrificed a large portion of its nor mal profit by offering the public values that were incomparable. The response to these val ues were so great that this New York store has increased it volume of sales by four or five times the amount of merchandise they would ordinarily expect to sell. The store, therefore, was in a position to place large orders — The for lack of orders resumed work. Idle men factories that in some cases were closed down and w omen w’ere called back to their jobs. Now’, A. J. Legum, Coastal Carolina’s largest local furniture organization, has put into ef fect the same value merchandising plan with a store-wide sale event that will make furni ture history in this section. In an effort to move a great volume of mer chandise, leverything at A. J. Legum’s store will be sacrificed, regardless of any normal profit. Buy now' at prices that put people back to work.
