He has humor, a keen sense of the dramatic, antl a knack of turning out a happy ending just when the complications of the plot threaten worse disasters." Thus spake the literary editor of the New York Times about R. Phillips Oppcnheim, the popular English nov elist and author of "The Hillrnan," the new serial we have secured for publication in this paper. Mr. Oppcnheim is without question one of the most widely read authors of the day. 'The lWlman" Is a study of char acter development that is one of the best things this writer has ever done. The plot is ingenious and the romantic element strong and unusual.
