In behalf of the Republican candi dates voted for at last Tuesday’s elec tion, I desire to express to the voters of the County our thanks for their Washington.—^The State Depart ment declared In a^ formal statement that no joutcome of the movement in California to re-cast the-state laws af fecting alien land tenure "will be ac ceptable to the country at large that does not accord witi: existing and ap plicable provisions of law. and, what is equally important, with the na tional instinct of justice." The statement was the first issued on the California land question, which long has been a matter /3t conversa tion between the department and the Japanese ambassador to Washington. The fact that it was issued on the eve cf the election -in California at which the propo^sed new fstate law is to be voted upon was declared by State Ds- “I have gained twenty height pounds and all my old-time strength and en ergy have returned since I began tak ing Tanlac” said George L. Harding, a well-known longshoreman of 914 1-2 James street, Seatlle, Wash. “For two years,” said Mr. Harding, “I had indigestion so bad everything I ate seemed to act like^ poison to ^ me.
