MORE ABOUT DUNCAN MATTER In week-before-last's paper some no. upon learning of Harry Dun- ( c: promotion in the bank put an [ article in the paper. I am not posi tive who the writer was, but since Claude Glazener wrote last week, I wish to add this article: ; \- for a slur being put on any f classmates, Claude is the on- j 1\ ore that thinks so. All of the boys | have talked with are proud of | h success. But as to Claude's s' ? of it being untrue about , I! patched trousers. I wish to j-ay i hat in the presence of Miss Al ii Perkins, the 7th grade teacher, . t ; himself, made fun of Harry's ; :ci- j corduroy pants. Miss Perk- ; it told a friend that she only hoped Harry would make, as fine a man as | ( " ? ? ud i . During the closing days of ^ ! ool. all the boys except Harry w ?!?? pants. While discussing their , 'nation suits, Claude made this j re nark to a Junior: "Guess Harry v " -'aduate in his overalls." An- | bright remark was made while i i e was home on a* vacation i 'talcigh ? Vasco, Claude and , II were talking about the fu tu'v, when Claude said: "You all lu-.:-' have a lifetime job at the Tan iic y." Don't suppose he ever thought h might have to work at the saw mill. Little did Claude think what it m; nt when these remarks were i e, bu; to forget them, we can never. 1 don't think Claude has to speak fu William, as all the class know thev have been intimate friends. William has high ideals and never felt himself above a Tannery work er. / Xo one else took the article as CI Mide did. but since he wrote the piece that was in last week's paper. I el that this is proof enough. I am proud of my brother, who wore his patches, they are an honor. So if anyone pyer says or laughs at your patches or overalls, just feel that vou have received an honor. ?MAE DUNCAN.
