NOTICE is hereby given that the Tallassee Tower Company, whose post office address is Pittsburgh, . Fa., has filed in this office its application dated (May 17, 1930, under the Act of. March 1, 1911, as amended by the Act of March 3, 1925 (43 Stat. 1215) to ex change the following described land, to-wit A tract of land on the watershed of the Tennessee River in Mac6n and Swain Counties, N. G, being Forest Service Tract Number 200-A-IV, con taining. 71.44 acres, more or less, a survey with detailed description of which is on file at the office of the Supervisor of the Nantahila Nitbsal Forest at Franklin, N. C to miiich said description reference U hereby made, in exchange for the following described National Forest lands: Four small tracts of land situated on the watershed of the Nantahala River in Swain County, N. G, said four tracts aggregating 1.5 acres, more or less, a survey, with detailed de scription of which is on file at the office fo said Tallassee Power Com pany, at Pittsburgh, Pa., to which said description reference is hereby made. The oldest member of the family, John Crawford, was there still hale and hearty, although he has celebrated his one hundredth birthday. Gilmer A. Crawford and family, and Charlcs Crawford and family of Franklin attended the reunion. LOOKOUT BIDS LET Bids were awarded last week by the Nantahala National forest for material with which to construct a two-story 14x14 feet observatory on Standing Indian mountain, the highest peak in Macon county. The lookout will be of the; latest type, and will replace a cabin now used by-forestry officials at the summit of the peak.. Laiii'i lex.: On Camp Taukeetah, one of the two girls' summer camps near Franklin, opened for the season on Tuesday, July IS. A group of camp enthus iasts from several southern states is included in this year's enrollment. Several directors of activities includ ed in the training at Taukeetah have been secured by the owner, Miss Olive Patton. Following the close of the regular, season, Taukeetah will be occupied by a group of students from a number of the women's colleges of North Carolina, who will use the camp as a base for recreation and experimental work in college activities. . .
