the wily Catamount forward sped
across the foul stripe, recovered
his own rebound and, leaping high
into the air, flipped in the game

The ACC marksmen continued
to hold the range in the last half
and had a 37-33 advantage with
seven minutes to go.
The turning point might have
come when, with three minutes re
maining, a Catamount forward Max
Collins sunk a field goal from cen
ter to put his teammates momen
tarily in the lead, 39-38, but Tony
Glazer edged ACC back into the
lead at 40-39 with a fast break
lay-up. Barnhorst put the Cats
back out front with a field goal
and J. D. Thorne fouled him on
the play. Barney made good his
free toss for a 42-40 count but
Glazer again came through with
a bucket to re-tie the score With
one minute to go.
Then the crowd of almost 1,000
fans came to their feet and roared
as the ball sped up and down the
court during the last minute as
each team tried for the game wip
ning goal. Then Barnhorst stole
the ball from an excited ACC play
er and fired to Tate who made his
spectacular play and ended one of
the most exciting games ever play
ed on the Catamount court.
. Atlantic Christian's center,
Brown, was high for the evening
with 14 points. McGinns and Barn
horst of the Cats were close be
?hind with 13 and 12 respectively.

as close as they got. Tate, Rhodes

CANTON Y, 40-0
McKinley Hensley's Catamount
wrestlers came through with their
second triumph of the current sea

a decisive 40-0 shelacking of Can

a pep-up for the Cats' coming Sat

ville Scotties at Cullowhee.
The highlight of Monday's scuf
fle was 175 pound Bruce Burle
son's first period pin of Canton's
I'll ill ips in 26 seconds flat. Burle
son downed Phillips in 20 seconds
and pulled a half nelson to turn
him onto his back, pinning him 6
seconds after they hit the mat.
Canton forfeited the 121 match
to Cullowhee because they lacked
a man to wrestle that weight. The
other matches went to Catamounts
by pins. Canton had no heavy
| weight so both teams substituted
a 165 pounder.
