4-H ADULT LEADERS CONFERENCE Near
ly 100 leaders attended the 4-H Adult Leaders Con
ference at the Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center near
Reidsville, May 10-13. Three of the delegates were
Mr. and Mrs. James Arrington, Marshall Rt. 6 (left)
and Dr. Lillian Rich, Black Mountain.
County leaders at the State 4-H
Leaders Conference May 10-18.
They were among eighty-seven
adult leaders from the various
counties in North Carolina to at
tend the event held at Betsy-Jeff
Penn 4-H Camp near Reidsville.
The program was designed to
help all the leaders to have a bet
ter understanding of the needs of
boys anld girls in 4-H club work.
The importance of each club hav
ing some type of planned recrea
tion at each monthly meeting was
emphasized to the group.
The Arringtons found that be
ing a 4-H leader in Madison Coun
ty is not much different from be
ing a leader in the other counties
of the State. All have one goal
in common, to help boys and girls
increase their knowledge, leader
ship abilities and develop their
skills.
