ROBINSON, JR., whose marriage to Lt. Robinson took place on February 9th, at t h e Edenton Street Methodist church in Raleigh. Mrs. Robinson is the former Miss Katherine Pal mer, daughter of Mr. and Mir. James Palmer, of Waynesville. To Brighten Rainy Days Mrs. R. II Plott, who was 89 years of age this month, was given a surprise dinner party on Sunday by members of her family. The affair was given at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Plott, on the Dell wood Road. A short while before the serving of dinner, Mrs. Tlott was brought to the home where the party was held. Mrs. Plott, the former Miss Martha Moody, is the widow of R. H. Waynesville Woman's Club was held on Thursday afternoon at the Hotel I.eFaine with Mrs. Frank Ferguson, Mrs. Stanley Brading and Miss Jessie Herren as asso ciate hostesses. Mrs. James W. Killian. president, presided. Miss Robina Miller, chairman of art, was in charge of the program. She introduced Mrs. Inez Brooks, teacher of art in the Waynesville township hijh school, who in turn presented six of her students, three Girl Scouts and three Boy Seout-s, members of the local troops. The six students displayed arts and crafts which they had made under the supervision of Mrs. Brooks and explained in detail the type of their work and how it was created. Miss Margaret Johnston, newly elected county librarian for Hay wood County Library, spoke to the club on the library system. She stressed the importance of reading today and the part a library will play in the post war planning. During the business session the club went on record as endorsing the Bolton bill concerning recogni tion of the rank of nurses. It was voted to make a $5.00 donation to the cancer control drive and also a similar amount for work in train ing the blind. A social hour followed adjournment.
