He has not been on the sea all the time, but the greater part of period hus been spout un the Admiralty Islands. Me entered the service in Feb ruary, 1943, and enlisted in Ral eigh, as a volunteer. He tuok his boot training at Bainbridgc. Aid., and from there was sent tu the aviation radio school in Jackson ville, Fla. He later attended the gunnery school at the Jacksonville Naval Air Base. , Before being sent overseas he took operational training in PV in Lake City, Fla.. and Beaufort. S C. At the time he entered the ser vice he was employed by 0. K Ray's Department Store. He will spend 30 days at home after which he will report to Memphis. Tenn., where he will be reassigned for duty.
