It all started with the play 'Tinian's Bainbow" in which there is lepre chaun prancing around the stage Now the kids are wearing lepre ! chaiins on their lapels. And the ! little kids have big leprechauns which they can ootiiice on an elas tic siring. Leprechauns are supposed to be good luck and here is the version of one ancient Irishman: The little people are really little fairies who are still Irish shoemak ers. But, unlike other shoemakers, the leprechauns will mend only the left shoe believing people should stand on their own two feet. Leprechauns like people, but they don't like other leprechauns and they don't like to be stared at. They will give you anything you ask for if you look them straight in t lie eve but they definitely do, not like to be ogled. So now the kids go around madly stariiifr into each other's eyes to see who can stare the longest. Woody says, "I've al ways wanted to be a singer and I've finally decided to give up my successful band to do it . . . Tell the kids if they have hopes they should stick to 'em even if it takes years. But it takes perseverance and courage to give up a good pay ing proposition for something brand new " Ten high school kids who were among the 3.500 attending a three-day convention of the Co lumbia School Press Association in New York, became reporters for a day and interviewed New York's District Attorney Hogan. The kids from Maiden, Mass., Washington, Conn., and Bayonne, N. Y., really put the DA to work answering questions. And don't think the experience won't help 'em if they ever become real reporters. Chad in, Bronx Bus Driver Back Home After Trip To Florida NEW YORK William Cimillo. the Bronx bus driver who wan dered 1,400 miles off his route to get away from it all, came home from Florida Tuesday in the role of a back seal driver. The owners of the bus were in the driver's seat, but they weren't to lacking in understanding. Vic tor McQuistion, president of the i Surlace transportation System, an- nounced that the company had ar ranged lor their wayward drive;- s $1,000 bail On a charge of grand larceny McQuistion declined to say, how ever, whether the company would press the charge against Cimillo. an employe for 16 years, or wheth er they would rehire him. Cimillo was booked on the grand larceny charge this afternoon, several min utes after the $18,000 red and btifl bus he drove to Hollywood, Fla.. rolled through the Holland tunnel with a substitute driver at the wheel. Greeted By Crowd At the Beach Street police sta tion, a crowd of cheering hundreds greeted the bus driver with spring fever. Aboard the bus were two de tectives. John Andersen, a company mechanic dispatched to Florida to drive the bus back home, and a lonesome forgotten prisoner being brought home from Florida to face abandonment charges. Dunn police and banks were keeping a close check on persons flashing $100 bills, but neither po lice nor Peterson felt encouraged over prospects of finding the mo ney.
