The Bev. h. G. Elliott, pastor, pronounced the vows, usim; the double ring service. The altar of the church was deco rated with evergreens interspersed with baskets of while gladioli and branched candelabra holdin;; light ed cathedral tapers. A program of wedding mu:;ir w;i: presented by Mrs. Douglas Moore, organist, and Miss Mozelle Liner and Charles Isley, vocalists. Prior to the ceremony Mrs. Moore play ed "Ava Maria" by Shuberl and Clair de Lime," by Debny. Mr. Isley sans "Because, " by dellanle lot and Miss Liner sanf,' "I Love Thee," by Ciregg. The traditional marches were used as processional and recessional and "O l'roniise Me" was played while the vows were spoken. The full skirt with inn-rted panels of ("hunlilly lace I'nd.-d in a cathedral train and her In-tiere4 finger-tip veil of French tulle and, lar.e fell from a coronet of matching seed pearls. Uer only ornament was a single strand of pearls and she carried a bouquet of white carnations centered with a lavender orchid and showered uiih white satin ribbon. Miss Margaret Jane Palmer was maid of honor and wore a gown of heavenly blue taffeta with low-cut bertha, fdted bodice and full skirt over which matching tulle was draped and held in place with blue atin bows. She wore a strand of pearls and carried a bouquet of eonl casting carnations. Miss Norma Jane Burgin and Miss Hetty Pruett of Canton, cous ins of the bride, were bridesmails. Miss Burgin wore a dress of orchid lafleta with matching headdress, and Miss Pruett wore a dress of yellow taffeta with matching head dress. Both dresses were similar lo that of the maid of honor and the maids carried bouquets of con trasting carnations. Little Miss Jean Allen Patton of Asheville, niece of the groom, was flower girl and wore a dress of orchid taffeta similar to those of (he other attendants. She scat tered rose petals from a basket of yellow tulle. J. 1). Kelly served as best man for the groom and ushers were Sain L. Calhoun, brother of the bride, and Joe Allen Nuekalls of lleiulersonville, nephew of the bride. Mrs. Calhoun, mother of the bride, wore an afternoon dress of green faille with sequin trim and blown accessories. Her corsage was of copper rosebuds. Mrs. Turner, mother of the groom, was attired in a dress of green crepe w ith brown accessories and her cor sage was of yellow roses. Following the ceremony an in formal reception was held at the llrniie of Mr. and. Mrs. Kenneth Lowe, brother-in-law and sister of the bride. She is the former Miss Dorotha Jean Calhoun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Alexander Calhoun. VISITORS RETURN TO CANADA ! pi J rlo. To Meet Thurs. R. C. Glavich of Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada, his sons, Ray, Jr.. Robert, and Leslie Glavich and his daughter, Mrs. Douglas Ritchie, and her young son, Dougie, left Monday for their home after spend ing the holidays visiting Mr. and Mrs. Kdward Glavich of Waynes ville and other relatives in the east ern part of the state. R. C. Glavich and Edward Gla vich are brothers and this trip marked their first visit together in twenty years. mother of the groom. Mrs. John Melvin of Asheville, and Mrs. Joe Calhoun, Jr. The bride's table, which was cov ered with a handmade lace cloth, was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake topped with minia ture hi ide and groom and was dee orated with orange blossoms and white candles in silver holders. After the reception the couple left, for a wedding trip to Florida and upon their return will reside at the Queen Farm on the Dellwood Road. For traveling the bride wore a suit of burgundy wool with dove gray accessories and the orchid de tached from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of the Va nesville Township High School and at the time of her marriage held a secretarial post with the Haywood County Welfare Board. The bridegroom is also a gradu ate of the Waynesville High School and is a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy with duty in the Pacific theater. He holds a position with a local busi ness firm. Out-of-town guests included Wil liam J. Pruett, Mrs. Laura F. Har vey, and Mrs. Mary C. Cooley of Washington, D. C; Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Pruett, Mr. and Mrs. John Melvin, Mrs. Ann Mooneyham of Asheville; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pruett, Ray Pruetl of Canton; Mrs. C. E. Brown. Jr., of Clyde; Misses Christine and Doris Justus, Mrs II. A.
