' Long's Chapel Guild Has Christmas Meet The Wesleyan Guild of Long's Chepel Methodist Church held a Christmas meeting Tuesday night with Mrs. A1 Phillips and Mrs. Willard Moody as hostesses in the home of Mrs. Phillips. Christmas decorations were used throughout the house and a Christ mas tree was featured. The pro gram was presented by candle light. Mrs. Paul Sutton led the devo tional which Included a meditation by Mrs. Fred Herron. Mrs. William Freel presented a Christmas read ing. Group singing was led by Mrs ltus9ell Fultz with Mrs. Evelyn Torgerson accompanying on the at - eordian. Mrs. A. L. Ensley presided dur ing the business hour and plans were made for the group to take j care of a needy family at Christ- j mas. Methodist Young People To Have Banquet More than three hundred Metho dist Young People are expected to attend the annual Christmas ban quet of the sub-district of the Methodist Youth Fellowship to night at the Y. M. C. A. in Can ton. A Christmas pageant will be presented bv ihe members of the MYF of tne First Methodist, Church of Waynesville and Charles Mainous of Canton, sub district president, will preside. The banquet is being prepared by the Woman's Society of the Canton First Methodist Church. * ? * Mrs. John E. Mrs. Curtis Rogers presided. During the business session a nominating committee was ap pointed. composed of Mrs. Walter Rhodarmer, Miss Katherine Os borne, Mrs. Sam Jackson and Mrs. H W. Warren. The demonstration on Planning for Christmas was given by the home agent after which Pollyanna gifts tgere exchanged. * * * Pageant Will Be Given Monday At Hazelwood School The Christmas Story, a pageant in Ave scenes, will be presented by the children of the Hazelwood Ele mentary School, Monday, December 15, at 7:S0 p. m., in the school auditorium. A robed choir of sixty voices from the fourth, fifth and sixth grades will sing. The pageant cast includes Jimmy Ledford, reader; Jack Holder as Joseph, Grace Wilson as Mary, Bobby Lunsford, Joel Sawyer, and Rob Mills as Wise Men, Van Green, ! Harold Rogers, and Vernon Brown-1 ing as shepherds, and the following angels: Susan Prevost, Mary Lou 1 Swanger, Ruth Creasmap, Rebecca Moody, and Nancy Allen. Candle, .bearers will be Beverly Stansberry, Ann Hill, Carol Wise, Barbara Bishop, Sally Gerringer, Louise Estes, Carolyn Smith, Beth Hyatt, Shelia Balance, and Jeanie Jones.
