Iron Duff Man Promoted In Korea By MRS. KAY MILNER Community Reporter William Roy Phillips, Jr.. son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Phillips of Way nesville. who has been serving with the 40th Division in Korea since August, was recently promoted to Corporal Corp Phillips is now rated as Liaison Specialist and is attached to Headquarters Battery, hftoth Field Artillery Battalion. Mrs. Phillips is the former Elizabeth Ann Crawford. She is presently residing in Charlotte where she holds a position with Frank Woods, Inc. Mrs. Phillips is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs Ned Crawford of Iron DulT. Maxine Medford. who is in nurse's training in Asheville. spent the weekend with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Charlie Medford. She had with her Margaret Roberts, a classmate. Betty Arlington is improving some in the Haywood County Hos pital. She underwent an appen dectomy last week. We are very sorry to hear that Mrs. J. L. McKlroy is quite ill in the hospital again. The Iron DulT Home Demonstra tion Club will meet Friday evening. February 12, at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. J. R. Caldwell.
