||i1 II I ? I Adventist Pastors Arriving For Junaluska Convention SaBRwf; i ? Seventh-day Adventirt minister* from all parts of North and South Carolina began arriving at Lake J Junaluska yesterday to prepart for the Carolina Bible Conference that opens there Sunday night, ac cording to Pete Meisner, pastor of the Hazelwood and Sylva Seventh day Adventist churches. A professional fellowsnlp meet ing has just been announced from Charlotte headquarters by C. H. Lauda, conference president, for Saturday afternoon and night. Doctors, nurses, and teachers have been invited to fellowship with the ministers at this special get to-gether prior to the convention's opening. A travelogue will be giv en Saturday night. Several thousand people are ex pected to arrive Sunday for the Opening of the Bible conference Sunday night. Over 3,500 members from the churches throughout the conference are expected to at tend this conference-wide gather- ' tag May 20 - June 4. Among the guest speakers com ing from the denomination's world headquarters in Washington are: D. E. Hebok, former president of the Adventist Theological Semi nary now executive secretary of the General Conference, J. A. Buckwalter, field secretary, Dr. Wlnton H. Beaven, director oi scientific studies for the preven tion of alcoholism and assistant secretary of the American Temper ance Society. I William A. Fagal, New York di rector of the denomination's tele vision program "Faith for Today" is scheduled to speak at several of the services. "Faith for Today" is viewed from over 100 outlets from coast to coast every Sunday. Evangelist Ben Hassenpflug, who has just returned from mission service in Africa will speak each night during the convention. His sermons will be illustrated with a unique device using "black light" which he calls "Colorama". The daily program opens with a devotional service at 6:30 each morning. At 0:15 a spiritual Bible Study series wll be conducted by D. E. Rebok. The "Soul Winning Hour" is at 11 o'clock each morn IMKHHWi iMWMfer . Report Received On Soco Wreck; Four Injured The Mountaineer received a full report after presstime Monday on the three-car collision on the Soco Road at 2 p.m. Sunday. Patrolman V. E. Bryson of the State Highway Patrol said that a 1941 Chevrolet driven by Jarvis Lee Keith of Canton, slowed down in a line of traffic, and was struck fro mthe read by a 1946 Ford, driven by Jimmy Fox of Canton. The Fox car was, In turn, struck from the rear by a 1946 Ford, en by Clara Lou Ross of Jonathan Creek. Injured were: Mrs. Effie Justice, head and back injury; Betty Ann Ross, cuts and bruises; Clara Lou Ross, cut knee, and Fannie Ethel Reeves, minor cuts and bruises. The accident occurred during a hard rain. Total damage was esti mated at $500. Fox and Miss Ross both were charged with following too closely. Ghost Town Comeback RICO, Colo. (AP) ?
