Mr. and Mrs. Hardy King of Vir ginia are visiting Mrs. King's fath er, Mr. Hedrick, who is suffering from injuries received while fish ing two weeks ago. The regular H.D. Club meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Frank Christopher last Thursday night. The subject was: "Quick and Easy Meals". Airman First Class Joseph Rick man, son of Mrs. Rhoda Rickman is home on leave after spending eighteen months at his base in Okinawa. Capacity Crowd Hears Singers At Courthouse A capacity crowd gathered at the courthouse here Sunday after noon to hear the twelve singing groups participating on the pro gram of the regular quarterly Hay wood County singing convention. Tom Queen, vice president of the convention, served as master of ceremonies and Ray Parker, presi dent, greeted the singers and guests. Featured on the program were the Davis Trio of Gastonia, the Mellow Tone Quartet of Swanna noa, the Victory Quartet of Hay wood County, the Smith Duet of Jackson County, the Church of God Trio of Hazetwood, and the Crawford Quartet of Sylva.
