The Lord told Ezekiel to "go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus said the Lord God, whether they will hear, or wheth er they will forebear." ?Therefore say, Thus said the Lord God, Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be of them as a little sanc tuary in the countries where they shall come. "Therefore say thus saith the Lord God, I v/ill even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 'That they may walk in My statutes, and keep Mine ordi nances, and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God." Repent, and turn your selves from all your transgres sions; so Iniquity shall not be your ruin. "For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God; wherefore turn your selves, and live ye." Ezckiel's message was similaf to that of John the Baptist, call ing for repentance from sin; and to that of Jesus Christ,, who still calls us to repentance and a life everlasting. What hope and courage must Ezekiel have brought to his sor rowing people by God's words. Did the Lord's people heed Ezckiel's message? Many must have done so; a new spirit must have swept over the saddened hearts of those who listened to the prophet. We in our country have never known physical captivity, but we all sin, and forget to turn our thoughts ?hearts and minds?to God and His son, Jesus Christ, cur Saviour. Let us, too, repent and be true to God, our refuge and strength. rfMM outlines produced by the Division of Christian lCdurstion. 1 of the Churches of Christ In the U.S.A.. And he hardly could be expected to understand why. >. In a moment he'll launch his vessel on the crest of a dying wave, and barring mishap, watch it ride to sea until the next breaker drives it again to shore. And if, perchance, she stays up right and turns again to sea he'll never realize that her seaworthiness is primarily a matter of having the right keel. ? The Captain's life will be like his ship! He'll have to face the breakers' roll just as the rest of us do. Whether he remains upright, ready for the next onslaught, or washes up on the beach, is go ing to depend on the moral and spiritual under- iR||^Hi| girding of his life. We can't expect this Captain to know how im portant a keel can be. But everyone expects his V parents, with the help of the Church, to provide him with the best keel a young master can have ?a positive, courageous faith in Cod. I THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . . | ALL FOR THE CHURCH , ? The Church is the greatest factor on earth for I S the building of character and good citizenship. | 8 It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a * I strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization I 1 can survive. There are four sound reasons why I I every person sfiould attend services regularly S ' and support the Church. They are: (1) For his H own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the ? sake of his community and nation. (4) For the n sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral I dnd material support.
