Vallle Wyrick and PTarie Smith, laboratory employees of a Greensboro, N.C., textile plant, are having; a hard' time deciding whether the dazzling original block print they're examining would be more suitable .for dress or drapery material. The fabric was one ot many ex hibited at the International Textile Exhibition at Weatherspoon gallery, Woman's College of the University of North Carolina. Dr. Ruffin In Accident ?A practically new Cadillac owned and operated by Dr. W. Ruffin was badly damaged wben it overturned several times on a curve this past week end. Dr. Ruffin was unac customed to traveling on the road and was not aware of the curve until too late to slow up. He recei ved only slight bruises. It seems that accidents have been frequent at this point, In the past. Rr. Ruf fin is now driving a brand new Cadillac. i" . Hew AAA Com. .'In the AAA voting last Thursday Lonnle Stroud was named as the Pink Hill precinct delegate and Earl Davis, Bruce Howard and Roland Carter were elected committeemen. II. D. Club Meets Mrs. Leighton Turner was hos itess to the Pink Hill Home Demon stration Club at her home Thursr day afternoon. Miss Brickhouse, Home Agent, was in charge. It was a recreational meeting and Xmas suggestions were made. Also the following officers were elected: Mrs. Whitford Hill, Pres.; Mrs. Fred Williams, Vive Pres.; Mrs. L. H. Turner, Secty.; and Mrs. Nick Smith, Treas. Decorations and re freshments carried out the Xmas motif. Party Hostess Mrs. J. L. Johnson honored her little son Rex on his birthday Fri day afternoon with a party. The Christmas motif was carried out in decorations and refreshments. The little honoree received many nice gifts. In Hospital Mr. J. A. Worley underwent a major operation at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville last Friday and is getting along as well as can be expected. He is rural mail carrier on Pink Hill Rt. 1. Turner, Jr. was honored on his 5th birthday Saturday after noon when his mother enteretincd with a party in the basement of her home. A decorated Christmas tree was set up and gifts which the honoree received were spread underneath. Games were played and the little guests fished for favors. Cup cakes, ice cream and cokes were served. As they took their departure, candy was served from a table presided over by two snow men. About 30 guests attend ed. Thomas L Head Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday for Thomas L. Head Jf Seven Springs, age SO, who died in a Goldsboro hospital after a brief illness. Rites were held from the graveside in Herring Cemetery near Seven Springs, with the Rev. John son, Methodist minister officiating. Surviving are three brothers, L. H. of Seven Springs, Burke of Mt. Olive, and Newton Head of Kinston: two sisters, Mrs. L. A. Dawson of Seven Springs, and Mrs. H. H. Hodges of Wilmington. Mr. Head was the son of the late L. C. and Elizabeth Head.
