Johnson were in Fuquay Springs Wednesday to attend the funeral of Mr. Monroe Bullock, the father of Mr. Henry Bullock, Supt. of Lenior Co. Schools. Miss Polly Weston of Raleigh and Mr. Corbett Weston of Jacksonville were guests of relatives here at the week end. Mr. Woodrow Jackson who has been ill in a Kinston hospital has returned home. : Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fussell and daughters of Rose Hill and Mr. Garland Simmons of S. C. were re cent guests of Mrs. N. C. Davis. Mr. Jespie Pickett underwent an appendectomy In the VA Hospital in Fayette ville a few days ago. Mr. and Mrs. Lylton Maxwell of Winston-Salem and Miss Emileigh Maxwell of Norfolk spent the week end with their parents Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Maxwell. Mr. and Mrs. Jack McPhaul vis ited relatives in Wilmington' dur ing the week end. Mr. R. K. Smith of Chapel Hill spent the weekend here. Mr. Harvey Turner, law student at Carolina, spent the week end at home. Mr. Hugh Wells, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Wells of B. F. Grady, underwent an appendectomy at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte at the week end. His mo ther returned from visiting him on Sunday. Feb. 2 and entertained with several piano selections by the following pupils: Linda Holt, Annie Lois Grady ,Nell Garner, Marilyn Stroud, Nancy Lillian Grady, Doug las Sutton,. Donn Wells and Mrs. Byrd play ed a piano duet. Eleanor Gay Her ring rendered a lovely vocal select ion accompanied by Mrs. Byrd.
