Rosemond and Everett Rosemond visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Rosemond and family in Gastonia over the weekend. BRIDGE The'Couples Bridge Club met this month in the home of Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Winecoff. TRAIN RIDE Boy Cub Scouts of Den Two went to Durham Tuesday and had supper and returned by train. The subject this month the boys are" studying is “Railroad ing.” GUESTS Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Wlnecoff were Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Winecoff and children of Concord. VISIT Miss Ruth Privette visited in .Statesville for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Babcock. BRIDGE The Ladies Bridoe Club met last week with Mrs. Ira Ward I with two tables set. Kay, all of Clover, S. C. SEWING CLASS More members are invited to join the adult sewing class taught by Mrs. Glenn Auman, Home Economics Teacher, Hillsboro High School. The next class will be held Tuesday night at 7:30, at which time garments will be cut out. Classes will be held each Tuesday and Thursday nights for three weeks with make-up classes scheduled if necessary. TEACHERS IN ASHEVILLE Six teachers from the Orange County Schools will represent Orange County at the NCEA state convention in Asheville today through Saturday. Attending will be: Mrs. Wil liam Richmond, Mrs. Glenn Au man, Mrs. Irene Fender, Mrs. Mary Mitchell, Ted Shoaf and Perry Harrison, who will be the local unit president next year. RETURN Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Pender of Cedar Grove spent last week in Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Pender at tended the annual conference of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development which was held ' in Chicago, March 18-24. R Houston Walker was honored on his 88th birthday last Thursday with a birthday dinner in the Co lonial Inn. There were 12 present to watch him blow out the 18 can Iles on his birthday cake. McCAULEY Funeral services for Mrs. Mit-1 tie Blackwood McCauley, 82. were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the New "Hope Pres byterian Church with interment in the church cemetery. Methodists' holy week program is announced Holy Week Services will be held next week at the Hillsboro Methodist Church with the Rev. S. T. Kimbrough Jr., pastor and the Rev. David Kirk, assistant pastor, delivering the sermons. Services will begin Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. A special Easter program by the choir ’’drill be held at 5 o’clock. Youth Fel lowship will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday serv ices wfll begin at 7:30 p.m. Services for Easter Sunday will begin with an 8 a.m. sunrise serv ice and special music by the Adult Choir. The annual Easter sunrise breakfast will be served at 8:30. Church School wiH be at 9:45. and morning worship at 10:80 with the pastor, the Rev. Mr. Kimbrough, speaking on. “If Christ Be Not Raised.” ■ DRAFT TEST SET Hie annual Selective Service Col lege Qualification Test will be of fered to college students April 27 at approximately 500 colleges throughout the Nation. This is the only test that will be given for the 1960-61 school year. There will be nr special test given for students who are unable to take the test on April 27. 1961. Application ma terials for the test are now avail able at the Hillsboro office. Stu dents are urged to make applica tion early. The application, must be postmarked not later than mid night, April 6.
