MISS CAROL ANNE WELBORN Engagement ot Carol Welborn is announced Mr. and Mrs. Allen Burton Welborn of High Point announce the engagement of their daugh ter, Carol Anne, to Mr. Norman Leon Andrews of High Point, son of the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Chester James Andrews of Mount Gilead The Rev. Mr. Andrews is pas tor of Mount Gilead Methodisl Church. Miss Welborn prepared for col lege at Saint Mary’s Junior Col lege in Raleigh and attended High Foint College where sht was a member of Kappa Delt: Sorority. " *.1,* . Mr. Andrews received his edu oation at North Carolina Stat; College and High Point College where he was a member of P‘ Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He has been associated with High Poinl Savings and Trust Company ir High Point since his release fron active duty in the army in March 1061. She is a graduate of i the Watts Hospital School of -Nursing. A. Brown, principal of Hills boro High School, gave a sum mary of the origin of the junior high football program, its place in the school, and the benefit it is to the boys who participate. I Varsity backfield coach, Fred Claytor, talked briefly on how the junior high program was helping the varsity football pro gram. After Coach Claytor’s remarks, Hugh Burch, Junior high coach, outline the entire football pro gram to me group. * It was brought out clearly that school work and the development of good attitudes should take prece defice ovr th actual playing or the game. Bob Haas and Monroe Knight, who are assisting Coach Burch, made brief comments about the program. A ‘challenge was given to the group by Scott Cates to raise money to help the school bear the financial burden of support ing the Junior high football pro gram.
