Orange Pealings COUNTY GAME PROTECTOR Bob Logan won live awards* in •eluding the grand champion of 876 birds in the competition, for his show pigeons in the N. C. State Fair competition last week. But his primary avocation in the pigeon world, is in the raising of “racing homer” pigeons (not for competition, though). The County has no civil defense director now. Walter Wren resigned this post some time ago after the county commissioners declined a requested appropriation for this activity. The Chapel Hill civil de fense organization, necessarily subordinate to the county, is headed by Dr. George Spooner, Tuesday night the Town Board asked the Town Manager to con tact him and report back on the state of civil defease in Chapel Hill. It’s also understood that the county .commissioners will a gain be asked to give support to CD. , I HOW COME THE COMMUNITY Chest drive hasn’t done better in Chapel Hill this year?
