If you love beautiful and
distinctive fabrics, don't miss
seeing the block printed wall
hanging, made in New Eng
land, which adorns the li
brary display case now.
The dyeing and decoration
of textiles is one of the old
est arts of mankind. The an
cient civilizations of Meso
potamia and Egypt produced
fascinating fabrics thousands
of years ago, using only the
j simplest of techniques. Ever
i since that time, people in
many parts of the world have
used very simple means to
produce beautiful results.
Block printing is a fascinating
and creative activity which
does not require a vast array of
tools and materials. We have
the books to tell you how
to make your own attractive
designs on many kinds of ma
terial.

the idea of improving others
and improve ourselves instead,

Anyone who enjoys base
ball (and who doesn't? ) will
admit that our national sport
owes much of its popularity
to it's "funnymen." Dizzy
Dean, Bo Bolmskey and many
other baseball greats have
combined humor with athle
tic ability to make the game
more entertaining.
But how about a flitter
who bats backwards? Or «
first baseman who works
sitting down? Such antics are
typical of the fabulously fun
ny Indianapolis Clowns. These
jokers keep an audience
howling with their unpredic
table shenanigans and play a
first-class game of baseball
at the same time
Major league stars such a*

Ma Hyatt first played pro

The team is constantly on the
lookout for new talent, as
the major league scouts ate
always following this all-Ke
gro team in search of tomor
row's big league stars.
As business manager Bd
Hamrnan puts it, "You're ne

until you've seen the Indian

Clowns will be here in
