Mr. Marklin's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William J. Marklin Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Marklin are graduates of Davie County High School. Mrs. Marklin, also a graduate of Davis Hos pital School of Nursing, works as a registered nurse at Da. vie County Hospital ® Mr. Marklin attended Ca tawba College He is employed by Daniel Furniture and Elec tric Co. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of satin peau de sole and Chantilly lace with a chapel train. It was designed and made by her mother. Her veil was caught to a pearl crown, ■nd slhe carried « Bftoe topped with orchids. Miss Amelia Marklin, Mr. Marklin's sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Venita Dwiggins of Mocks ville, Miss Glenda Hendrix of Advance and Mi " Brenda Ab ernathy of Burlington. The attendants wore yellow silk brocade dreaaes with matching headpieces and. car. ried yellow rosebuds. Mr. Marklin was his son's best man. Ushers were Ches ter West of Advance; Bill Dwiggins, Clay Eaton and Dean Foster, all of Mocks ville. A church reception was held after the wedding. Later the newlyweds left on a ho neymoon at Silver Springs, Fla. When they return they will live here. Miss Keaton Is Married MOCKSVILLE Miss Shir ley Joan Keaton was married to Gary Brady Boger at 3:30 P. M. Sunday at Dulins Me thodist Church. The Rev. Brown McKinney officiated. Mr and Mrs. Boger are graduates of Davie County High School. She is employed by Western Electric Co. at Winston - Salem where he attends Forsyth Techinical In stitute. Mrs. Boger is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lester Keaton. Mr. Boger is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Boger. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a handclipped Chantilly lace dress ending in a chapel train. Her veil was caught to a seed pearl crown, and she carried a Bible topped with a white orchid. Miss Martha Hendrix was maid of honor, and brides maids were Miss Janice Whit aker and Mrs. Allen Blakely. They wore mint-green satin dresses with matching head piece and carried white chry santhemum bouquets. Lisa Diane Green was child attendant. Mr. Boger was his son's best man. Ushers were Ron ald Keaton and R. L Whit aker Jr. After a wedding trip, the newlyweds will live at Mocksville. WSCS MEETING HELD The night circle of the Wo man's Society of Christian Ser vice met Tuesday tiighfc April 12, at the home of Mrs. E. D. Hoyle with Mrs. V. G. Prim as co-hostess. The president, Mrs. Bob Hoyle, presided. Members were reminded of the annual District meeting at Memorial Church' in Thomasville on April 19, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Also there will be a con gregational supper Sunday evening, April 17, at 8:80. Mrs. W. R. Wands led the devotional after which Mrs. E. R. Andrews of Mocksville was introduced. Mrs. Andrews showed slides of the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Ger many, which she obtained dur ing a tour of Europe when her husband was a Chaplain sta tioned in Germany. The Pas sion Play is the fulfillment of the villager's promise to por tray in pageantry and word, the life of Jesus Christ when God removed an evil plague from the village in 1R33. She also showed slides of East and West Berlin before the Berlin Wall was built. The contrast between the two was quite vivid. Those present were: Lucille Benson, Frances Carter, Lore na Dull, Nancy Foster, Myr tle Miller, Betty Orrender, and Elsie Ridenhour. Late arrival at the "hen party" was Bax Carter, who provided ample entertain ment. Birthday Celebration On Saturday, April 9th, Mrs. Walter Brown entertained at their home for her daughter, Tina Marie, who was 9 years old. Those attending the cele bration were Denise and Perry Ridenhour, Suzanne Veach, Danny and Debbie Spry and the honoree. After games and contests, the group enjoyed refreshments of birth day cake decorated with mini ature Beatles, ice cream and colas. Attend Niece's Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Smith and sons arrived home Sunday evening after spend ing the week end in Golds bo ro attending the wedding of their niece. On Saturday, April ,9th. Miss Mary Ellen Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scott, and A-lc Ronald John Werheim of Hartford, Conn, were married at the Marine Base Chapel., Seymour Air Force Base, Golds bo ro, in a 1 o'clock ce remony. The bride is a fresh man at Peace College, Raleigh and the bridegroom is with the U. S. Air Force. Nichols-Campbell Wedding Is Announced Mr. Linnie J. Nichols, 88 years of age, and Mrs. Cor die Campbell, were married on Easter Monday afternoon at the home of the Reverend and Mrs. I. C. Morris at North Cooleemee. They will make their home in Mrs. Campbell's home. There is a wonderful story in this marriage, that will be remembered from both fami lies. They are two happy people. Everything was closed due to Monday being a holi day and it was difficult to get a marriage license. After fin ally being able to get the license, and waiting for the preacher to come home, they were married at 4:30 P. M. Morton were CUlvin Morton and his family of Lan tz, Maryland; Harold Morton and his family of Kannapolis; Karen Morton of McSherrystown, Pa., and Ja ckie Morton of Winston-Sa lem. Mrs. Morton's sister, Mrs. Meekie Thompson of the Pres byterian Home in High Point, visited Sunday afternoon. Culvin is Admihistrative officer of the Job Corp Cen ter located at Camp David oh Coctin Mountain in Mary, latid. He has been employed with the Job Corp since his transfer last year from the National Park Service in Cra te* Lake, Oregon. Harold is employed as a barber in Kannapolis. His wife and son are employed by Cannon Mills. Karen is « high school stu dent at Saint Joseph's Aca demy in McSherrystown, Pa., 35 miles from Camp David. Jackie has been employed with the So cial Security office since her transfer last September from the Winston-Salem Air Force Procurement Agency. Mrs. Morton returned to Maryland with Culvin to make her home with his fami ly there. Mrs. Bill Brooks is a patient at Davie Hospital. Mrs. Dollie Godby has been sick with the flu. Mrs. Rich fixed Easter Sunday dinner for her family. It was Lasange, an Italian dish. Those sharing the occasion with the Richs and Mrs. Nichols, were, Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Allen, Judy and Marlene, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Melntyre and Ann, Mike Mc- Intyre, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Steele and Lynn and Gary Nichols. The Rich family left late Bunday night to return to Port Chester, N. Gary Nichols returned home to Salisbury after spending the holidays with his grandmother, Mrs. Nichols.
