Eagles, of Fountain, spent Sunday here with relatives. f Bible School The Community Vacation Bible School will begin Monday afternoon, June 11th at 3:30 o'clock and con tinue daily through Friday. The school which has been held each sum mer for several years reached its peak last summer, the success of which was due to the untiring efforts and able supervision of Rev. Key Taylor. The Community Religious Youth Week will begin Monday, June 18, at 8:i$ /o'clock p. m., with Mrs. D. D. Fields as adult Counselor. Assisting in Bible School and the leaders in Youth Week are—Rev. Troy Barrett, Of Fayetteville; Rev. Thniass Rotledge, of ChQden, Texas; Rev. MeLanrin Meredith, of Dallas, Texas, and Rev. Gilbert Cafer, of West Virginia. Rev. This waa the largest class in he history of the school. < During the "Open House" hundreds j >f people from all walks of life and rom both far and near, inspected the nside work of the school. The class room exhibits received very "high com pliments. The home economics department ex tibited a completely balanced meal at he lowest cost and articles of cloth ng from the apron to the coat suit, rhe industrial arts department ex hibited articles of house-hold furni ure from the coffee table to complete >ed room suites with beautiful hand nade dresser lamps. Both the boys tod the girls along with the instruc »rs, received high compliments for heir interest and efficiency in this field. These exhibits would have lone credit to any industrial mstitu ion. The white citizenship of Farmville ind immediate communitty, has mani fested the feeling that through and >y a long period of incessant labor which has given evidence of progress award a better community, in gen sral, the school, as a whole, has war •anted the support and admiration of he entire community and has pledged ts support to any move toward <a nore adequate school plant for the colored people just as soon as the 'Lights go on again." - The white citisenship has always manifested a very sincere interest in :he colored school and its philosophy >f education and has helped it in nany ways, too numerous to mention lere.
