: WELCOME i! Every person old enough to reason things out for himself realizes that tfite tobacco market is the very life blood of this community. The success of individuals and their businesses rises and falls with the market. That is as it should be in a system of free enterprise. Since the importance of the tobac co market is realized, local citizens are doing everything in their power to stimulate its growth and aid its development. The messages are genuine. Come to Famrdlle. Come often. Stay a long time. , BERT SMITH HONORED WITH BIRTHDAY DINNER Mrs. Bert S. Smith was hostess at a family dinner Sunday honoring her husband, Bert ,S. Smith, on his birth day. Mixed flowers were used through out the house. The dining table was laid, with a Maderia cutwork and lace doth. A large pink and white birthday cake formed the centerpiece. Auxiliary tables were used in the living room. Barbecue, slaw, potato salad, fried chicken, com, lima beans, pickles, hot biscuits, bread and iced tea were served with the cake. Mrs. Harry Cooke, Mrs. Robert Lee Smith, Mrs. Venessa Townsend and Mrs. Allen Darden assisted in serv ing. Guests included J. Stanley Smith of Virginia Beach, Va,; Mrs. Bessie Dixon, Wilson; Miss Lula Hardy, La Grange; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cooke and children, Harry and Ann, of Mount Olive; and Rev. Z. B. T. Cox, W. J. Turnage, Mrs. Louise D. Har ris, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Lang, Mr. and Mrs. Z. M. Whitehurst and son, Zeb, Mrs. Cora L. .Barrett, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lang, Miss Elizabeth Lang, Mrs. Ora Turnage, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Smith and son, Bob, Mrs. Darden, B. S.
