New Building In October, 1948, the area served ^ by the Otter Creek Presbyterian chapel, 2% 'miles north of Falkland was surveyed. One-third replied!* the affirmative &|fl the chapel was begun in a vacant two-room tenant bouse, offered- as temporary quitters by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Moore. •;,* 60 were-enrolled, and the work was started Oct 31, 1948. Sunday School Mid preaching services wen conduct ed on Sunday afternoons, since Rev. Cory’s mornings and evenings were already devoted to filling Mb regular churches—Falkland, Fountain and Boyd Memorial. The entire venture * has been op a “pay as you go” plan. s All the labor, with the exception of't $200 worth df skilled labor, was bur nished by residents of the community and Mr. Cory. Hie building, 28 feet Wide ami 66 feet long, was ready for use on the Sunday preceding Christ mas, Sunday School was conducted on Dec. 18 in the new building. A Christ mas program was held on Dec. 22. On Christmas day Mr. Cory preached and two new members were received, f A revival was conducted in the church week before last. Unable to se cure a visiting preacher, Mr. Cory conducted the services and Charles P. Baucom of Farmville led the singing. During the week, 22 were received on profession of faith and baptism, two on reaffirmation of their faith and twos by letter. The chapel now has 28 members and will observe its first communion Sunday afternoon .at 3 o’clock. The present membership is made up of the following 19 adult$ and 9 young people: Mrs. Mae Deal, 1 Mir. and Mrs. Herman Bright, Mrs. Maida 'Ellis, Mrs. Ruby T.
