slave to Jefferson Davis, died Tues
day in Boerne, Texas, aged 60. Dur

Public Meeting.
Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock
the Sunbeam Society of the First
Baptist church will give a public
meeting. For the past several
weeks the society has -been making a
special stndy of missions in Africa
and this will form the subject for
Sunday night's meeting. The uro
gram will consist of songs, recita
tions, essays and readings. A col
lection will be taken to help the lit
tle folks in their society work.
