Tate leaves tomor row morning for High Point and Greensboro where she will spend a week with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Smyre are expected to return in a few days from Zirconia, N. C, where they have been spending the summer. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Balthls, who were called to Raleigh by the death of Mrs. Balthis' father, Major B. F. Dixon, are expected to return to Gastonia Sunday. Mr. John Hopkins and Miss Laura Young, who have been visit ing the family of Col. C. B. Arm strong, left this morning for New York. Mrs. Robert T. Padgett and lit tle daughter, Ethel, left Tuesday for Charlotte to spend a week with Mrs. Padgett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. A.
