Your Patronage Solicited We wish to announce that we have just completed the erection of an up-to-date gin plant, consisting of three 80-saw gins, operated by electrical power. It is located near the Gray Manufacturing Co.'s mill at the intersection of the Pisgah and Kings Mountain roads and is well situated for the convenience of the farmers on these two roads. We have also erected a warehouse for handling seed and will keep a supply of cotton seed meal on hand for exchange purposes. This plant, to gether with the one situated at our mill, gives Us a total ginning capacity of 75 bales of cotton per day, conse quently we can assure our customers of the promptest and most efficient service. The city council met in regular session for October at the city hall Tuesday night with all members present and Mayor T. L. Craig pre siding. There was very little except routine business before the council. The matter of installing lights in the lots behind stores on the South side of Main avenue between York and Marietta streets and at the in tersection of York street and Fifth avenue was referred to the water and light committee with power to act. A license of $5 per day was plac ed upon all lunch stands for the sale of hot or cold lunches, hot or cold drinks, fruits, candies, etc., within the Are limits on October 25th or any other one day. Outside of the fire limits the license was fixed at $3. Bills to the amount of $1,367.56 were audited and referred to the finance committee for payment. GASTONIA, TUESDAY OCTOBER 25 NEWS FROM CATAWBA COLLEGE Correspondence of The Gazette NEWTON, Oct. 5. Last Monday Lenoir College went down In defeat against the strong Catawba College team on the latter's field by a de cisive score of 44 to 0. The visitors were completely outclassed. It was nothing but a practice game tor Catawba. Whenever Lenoir would get the ball they never could make their distance. Of the two times they got the ball on the third down each time the ball went over to Ca tawba. They seemed to be outclass ed In every way. Next Wednesday, October 12th. the Catawba team leaves for Ashe vllle. Coach Tom Warllck Is highly pleased with his team, and expect. to make a good showinr at Ashe- vtile. He will take eighteen men along. Rev. Mr. Peeler, of Winston-Sa lem, was on the campus today visit ing his brother. He conducted the chapel services for the student this rrornlng. He Is a brother of Mr. Clifton Peeler, of the college, and an alumnus of Catawba College. Among the new students to enter this week are, Miss Nannie Miss Setzer and Mr. Schrnm, Newton. The students gave quite stration Monday night celebrating their victory over their eld rival. Le noir College.
