The Red 'ross man had informed him that a isitor from the home service section at the chapter headquarters would be asked y wire to visit his family and to help them in their distress. The report of the Department of Civil- an Relief of the American Red Cross for he year 1 91 S. just issued, shows that every part of the country where families of soldiers and sailors-Jive is covered by representatives of Red Cross Home Ser vice. Buckboards, boats, horses, sleds, snowshoes and the ubiquitous Ford are actually in use at present in the effort to reach every family reported in need, no matter how remote the place nor how rough the road. Red Cross organization for this work extends not onlv to all arts of Continental United States, but also to Alaska, the Philippines, the 'anal Zone, all the Insular possessions, and to every part of the globe where there are colonies of American families. It al so has its connections or representatives in all the nations which have been at war, either through American Red Cross commissions or through the Red Cross organizations of those countries.
