i:0DATt BZCXi22 23, ma. THEM LETTESS HOME. , (Continued from pagt 3.) tkey were all on, our side. Part of the British ships went out today but others eame in. There are two anti-aircraft . guns on this ship. We are anchored. in the Firth of Forth now. There is an ex ceptionally large bridge across the Firth above where we are anchored. It is quite a noted bridge. 1 saw the King and Queen of England and the Prinie of Wales last Wednesday when the kiug and prince reviewed us all. I went on board a British submarine last Friday. This has been a happy day for ub. This morning a notice was posted saying that we, the Sixth Battle Squadron, Would leave here for Hampton Koads in the near future. Later in the .lay I got a bunch of letters from the States. lnles our plans are changed we will leave here for the States in a few days. I exinvt to try and get a furlough then, and spend part of the holidays with you. Love to all, FRED B. FA IRES. From Sergeant Geo. W. Wilson. Mrs. W. W. Wilson recently received the following letter from her son, Sgt. (ieorge W. Wilson of Co. A, ll 'ith Mi chine Ouu Battalion: Le Mans. France, Nov. L'J, l!Uv Dear Mother: I wonder what you i 1 1 are doing this beautiful day? Suppose you are busy though, if it is as pretty a day over there as it is here. Seems like the sun shines, brighter over here tdn-r the war ended. It seems like a new place. We have been busy this week as our division is moving. We were the first to arrive at this place, so we were de tailed to unload the division and we have been busy day and night this week. The company works in two shifts, that is part are on for so long then the others go on. We don 't ,get much sleep, but we are expecting to get through tonight. Have ' already unloaded is trains and haxe six more yet. It has been pretty hard, but still we had a lot of fun. What time we are not busy we build up a good fire and chat, make coffee and eat some thing if we can find anything to ent. Wo are getting American rations now since we got here, as we are in the American sector. We have leen with the British all the time until we came here and were issued British equipment ami rations. Believe me, I am glad we are where we ran get good old American bread. Of course, the other was all right, but we like "ours" the best. We are anxious now for the day to come when we can start back to dear old U. 8. A., but when that will be we don 't know. France is a lieautiful country al right but give me America. The town we arc in now is alwut the nicest one I have been in. It is back where there has been no war, though. We are allowed to tell where we are now so you can look it up on the map. I don't think they are expecting us to stay here long. I hear we are to move in about eight days. Don't know where we go. Think I will be able, to belong to a circus when I get back over there. Well, mother, I am rather sleepy as my crowd worked from 12 o'clock last night till 8 this morning, so I must close for this time and try to get some rest. Love to all, your son, GEORGE. raiding eonteotkm and materially np port President Wilson's declaration' that the' war waa not baaed on aggression or the acquisition of property. . England, through Sir Erio Geddea, first lord of the admiralty, had previous ly acquiesced in the American plan to destroy the captured or surrendered war ships, and it is declared, will continue to support the United States, although it is expected that some of the lesser naval powers will demand that the prizes be distributed.
