Narrative Report I For September Twelve Home Demonstration ^lubs met in Hoke County in September with one hundred and thirty three women, attending. The demonstration was on “Us ing the Sewing Machine Attach ments”. The seam guide, foot hemmer, adjustable hemimer, bin der, tucker, ruffler, zipper foot, and buttonhole attachments were used. A cotton bag wardrobe loaned by the National Cotton Council was exhibited at six club meetings in September. The wardrobe consisted of fifteen childrens’ and young ladies’ gar ments made, entirely from cotton bags. The Home Agent atterided a meeting of the IHSOA County Council and the Farm Bureau supper. Four 4-H Civib girls--Joan Sin' clair, Jnne Connel^ Floreifce Cameron, and Freida Moss—gave a. fifteen minute broadcast over Station WiPTF in Raleigh. The County Council of Hoke County Federation of Home De monstration Clubs met in the as sembly room of the'County Office building on the afternoon of _9ep- tember 15. Mr. O. D. Fulp, Hoke- Moore County Sanitarian, spoke on Farm Home Sanitation, and showed two moving pirtures “Wa- ter-^Friend or Enemy” ahd a comedy on Farm Safety, The Council members voted to send seventy five Christmas gift pack ages to the children of Europe and Asia. Clothing of all kinds, small articles like soap, tooth paste, pins, etc. and toys are to be packed in towels that have been sewed up and made into a bag. Tags with the name and ad dress of the sender and the arti cles enclosed will be placed op each bag. The gifts are to be brought into the Home Agent’s office by October 15. Final plans fof next year’s pro gram of work were made and goals and oibjectives set up at the Council meeting. A number of 4-iH Club records were collected and checked to determine County winners.
