WITH OUR College Students Duncan Brown McFadyen, , III, of Raeford, hat been chosen to serve at a itudent representative on the Presbyterian College Council on Academic Affairi. The Council on Academic Affairi, lieaded by Academic Dean Dr. Fred Chapman, recommends any major academic changes to the faculty, itudiei the academic program at PC and evaluates it and approves new courses and recommends any new major offering to be forth - coming. Duncan, a senior majoring in English, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. B. McFadyen of Route Student participation on faculty committees is a recent development which allows limited student participation on committees such as this. Katherine Hood, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Willis S. Hood of 323 Magnolia Ave., Raeford, North Carolina, was appointed a lay out editor of the student newspaper of Swarthmore College, The Phoenix, recently. A senior in the honors program majoring in pliilosophy, Miss Hood is a graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, South Carolina. She served as lay out of the College year book, The Halcyon, last year. She is now responsible for the physical appearance of the semi weekly publication. The College is a small, co -educational liberal arts school south west of Philadelphia. SNB Applies For Bank LUMBERTON - Southern National Bank of North Carolina has announced its application to the Comptroller of the Currency for approval to establish an office in Roanoke Rapids. The proposed site would be in the Roanoke Rapids Plaza Shopping Center slated for construction in 1970.
