Dr. and Mrs Riley Jordan and family and Franklin Jordan spent the weekend at Holden Beach. J.II. McAnulty and Iiis brother Joseph of Aberdeen took Patiick McAnulty to Urbana, Illinois last week for an interview at the U. of Illinois where lie was accepted for future studies. Miss Anne Dickson of Charlotte spent the weekend witli her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dickson. Dr. and Mis. E.F. Gaynor and sons of Greensboro spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. J.W. Members of Baptist churches ui this area are invited to participate in a Mission Action j Workshop to be held on ' Monday night, March 16, at 7:30 at the Fust Baptist Church in Lumberton. The workshop, sponsored by the Woman's Missionary Union of the Robeson Baptist Association, will feature information and discussion of the meaning of mission action, led by Mrs. Laurence Bounds of Raeford, associations! director of Woman's Missionary Society. Following this discussion, those in attendance will choose the area about which they wish further information. Group discussion will be held in the following areas: "The Headliners" led by Mrs. Jack Mansfield of Raeford: 'The Sick" led by Mrs. R.E. Young, III, of Red Springs; "Juvenile Rehabilitation" led by John Gardner of Lumberton; "Prisoner Rehabilitation" led by John Townsend of Red Springs; 'The Aging" led by Mrs. Joe Gulledge of Raeford; 'The Economically Disadvantaged" led by Mrs. Raymond Amnions of Red Springs; 'The Non ? Readers" led by Mrs. Wi. Skinner, Jr., of Lumberton, and "Combating Moral Problems" led by the Rev. David Morrow of Red Springs. The training session is scheduled to last two hours and is open to both men and women, and interested young people. Guides to be used by groups working in the various areas in churches will be available for sale. Miss Maggie Leach Birthday Party Circle No. 2 of the Antioch Presbyterian Church met last week at the home of Miss Maggie Leach for a picnic lunch to lielp Miss Leach celebrate her 83rd birthday. The meeting was held in Miss Leach's bedroom so that she could be with the 11 members and six visitors. After the luncheon members served birthday cake and ice cream. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Gib Bernhardt of 1: Fifth Ave. announce the biith of a son. Van Ludwig, on March 3 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Wilds Cleveland Sellars announce the engagement oj their daughter, Delia Ellen, to William Daniel Gilmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Copeland Gilmore. The wedding will take place on June 21. Gordons Home From England Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gordon were welcomed home from a three year tour of duty with the Air Force at Bcntwaters Air Force Base, Aldeburgh, Suffolk ? England. There were married in 1968 in the town of Aldeburgh, home town of Patty Gordon. Relatives and friends gathered on College Drive Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Webb, Larry's aunt and uncle, for a buf/et style lunch. Mrs. James Wood and Mrs. Don Yates were hostesses. Mrs. Ed Manning,Chairman, presided over the business. She reminded members of the Horse Show and reports were heard from standing committees. Mrs. Clayton Buoyer introduced Mrs. Roy Lent who showed a film on Family Recreation. Refreshments with a St. Patrick's Day motif were served.
