^>&<1LoJL ^^\)QaaXa> Wimberley-Lee vows Spoken At Antioch Church Miss Jacquelyn Kay Lee and Stephen Howard Wimberlcy Jr. exchanged their wedding vows in a seven o'clock ceremony Saturday evening at Antioch Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ben F. Ferguson officiated for the double ring rites. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lee of Antioch and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. S.H. Wimberlcy of Shelby. The church was decorated with white gladioli, mums and greenery with white candles. Mijsic was presented by Mrs. Arcltic Howard, organist, and Miss EUen Conoly who sang.O Perfect Love as the benediction. The matron of honor, Mrs. Linda Manus, wore a street ? length aqua dress and carried a bouquet of yellow and white daisies. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace, street ? length dress, fashioned with scoop neckline and puff sleeves. Her shoulder ? length veil was attached to headband of seed pearls and net and she carried a Bible topped with orchids and streamers. William Manus served as best man and ushers were Clem Lee and James Jones. The mother of the bride wore a pink brocade knit dress. The bridegroom's mother wore navy blue wool. Both mothers had corsages of white roses. Following the ceremony, the bridal couple and their attendants greeted guests in the church vestibule. After a short trip to the coast the couple will be at home here on S. Jackson St. For travel the bride wore a blue knit outfit, navy accessories and an orchid corsage. The bride will complete nurses training at Sandhills Community College in June. The bridegroom is employed by Raeford Turkey Farms. Cake Cutting Friday night, immediately following the wedding rehearsal, the bride's parents entertained with a cake cutting at their home. MRS. STEPHEN H. WlMBERl.EY JR. The tabic was centered with a candelabrum holding white candles and yellow and white daisies. Mrs. J.H. McNeill Jr., aunt of the bride, served cake and Miss Jean Hodgin presided at the Dunch bowl. Belk Employees Entertained Sat. Following the store closing Saturday, employees at Belk - Hensdale here were entertained by Mrs. Jesse Gulledge, Mrs. George Wood and Mrs. Martin Webb. Special guests were retiring store manager W.C. Phillips, and Mrs. Phillips, and J.W. Hensdale of Fayetteville. Cokes, coffee, sandwiches, potato chips and cake were served. Jane Conoly Feted Friday Miss Jane Conoly, bride ? elect of this month, was honored Friday night at a miscellaneous shower given by Mrs. Susan Conoly. After games were played, each guest was requested to write a favorite recipe to give to the honoree. Miss Conoly then opened her shower of gifts. Gift from the hostess was a cooker - fryer. Miss Ellen Conoly, April bride - elect, and Miss Ann Black, June bride ? elect, were remembered with gifts of china and crystal in their selected patterns. All three brides - elect were presented corsages of pink carnations. Guests were invited into the dining area where they were served punch, bridal cakes, wedding cookies, nuts and mints from a table which was spread with a white lace cloth and centered with a green and white floral arrangement. Herndon-Perry Mr. and Mrs. William Archie Herndon of Red Springs announce the engagement of their daughter Wanda Kay, to Charles Fischel Perry Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fischel Perry of Pembroke. The wedding will take place on June 21 at the First Baptist Church in Red Springs. The bride-elect is a 1969 graduate of Red Springs High School. She is now attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she is enrolled in the Dental Assistant's Education and Training Program. The prospective bridegroom is a 1966 graduate of Red Springs High School. He is attending Campbell College where he is a senior majoring in Business Education. Sandhills Club Luncheon, March 18 The March luncheon of The Sandhills Christian Women's Club will be held at The Country Club of North Carolina at 12:00 noon on Wednesday. March 18. The guest speaker for the meeting will be Danny Griffin, who is in charge of the Agape Center of Charlotte, N.C. Mr. Griffin works closely with Dr Johnnie McLeod as tlscy counsel the young people who come to this Center. He has many interesting experiences to relate. The special feature will be a demonstration of the various and attiactive ways which towels may be used for the home. Mrs. Mary Jane Graham, soloist of Carthage, will bring special music. Chaminade Music Club Meets The Chaminade Music Club met at the Hoke Civic Center Tuesday evening. Miss Maude Poole, vice - president, presided in the absence of the president, Mrs. John Campbell. Mrs. Jack Mansfield, chairman of Ways and Means Committee, announced that the bake sale by the Club would be lield Friday, A pri) 10. An announcement was made concerning the program of music to be given at the Raeford Presbyterian Church Sunday, April 12. Miss Jessie Bright Ferguson was program leader She told about the Hym of the Month, "God. Thou Mades Earth", a Welsh melody, after which it was sung, with Mrs. Hugh Lowe accompanying. The program was presented by the Hoke High Chorale under the direction of Mrs. Neill A. McNeill. This group recently received superior rating at the meeting in Wilmington. The following program was given: "Miserere Mei" - Antonio Lotti; "Gloria" - Vivaldi; "Propter Magnam Gloriam" ? Vivaldi; "Gloria Patri:: - Palestrina, which was conducted by student director and president of the group, Jerry Cribbs, "Oh, Lord, In Thee Have I Trusted" - Handel; "Liruin Lirunt", English Madrigal, - Thomas Morley; "Let All the Nalionas Praise the Lord", arranged by Lara Hoggard; "Ave Maria" - Rachmaninoff; "Fair Phyllis", English Madrigal, ? Farmer; and 'Those Were the Days:: by Gene Raskin was sung as an encore. Accompanists were Missy Upchurch and Beth Jordan. Mrs. Jack Mansfield, Mrs. Steve Hedgpcth, Mrs. James Stewart, and Miss Jessie Bright Ferguson, hostesses, served cookies, nuts and punch following the program. Mrs. Currie Feted On Birthday Mrs. Rex L urrie wt honored Sunday on her 73r birthday with a surpri: luncheon at the home of daughter, Mrs. Ed Byrd. A buffet luncheon wj served and guests were seate at individually appointed table which were centered wit arrangements of pin camellias and candles. Mrs. Currie was presented corsage of pink camellias an was remembered with birthda gifts.
