OFF TO CAMP - Forty-eight Hoke County 4-Hers between the ages of 9 and 19 boarded buses for Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center, Reidsville, Monday for six days of activities including classes in electronics, recreation, swimming and handicrafts. Campers will present programs, a talent show, stunt night and evening vespers at the camp. Accompaning the group are county extension agents Brenda Abrams, and W.S. Young, Dale Jones with 4-H action and adventure program, and Miss Beth Ivcy, pay student. (N-J Photo) Stonewall Report By Mrs. Harold Chaion The Rev. Gordon W. Ruggles returned to Sandy Grove and Parker United Methodist Church to serve another year as their pastor. Welcome back Gordon and Jene. Vacation Bible School will continue through Friday, June 14.There will be a covered dish supper Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. followed by a children's program at Sandy Grove United Methodist Church. Revival services will be held at 7:30 pjn. Monday through Thursday June 17-20. David McLean will be the speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones from Chadbourn spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. JA. Jones. Mrjid Mrs. Whitford Jones and son Rodney of Colonial Heights, Virginia are spending two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Glisson of, Hendersonville spent the weekend with relatives in the community. Mrs. Glisson visited her brother L.M. Chason of Highsmith Rainey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. J.A. Jones and Mrs. John Henry McGill spent last Thursday at Holden Beach. They visited Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Oliver at their cottage. The WMU of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church met at the Hut Tuesday night June 3. The program was led by Mrs. Walter Parks. The hostesses were Mrs. Walter Parks and Mrs. Ernestine Brewer. Miss Martha Ann Hendrix spent last week with friends at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Frances Bradshaw daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Williamson underwent surgery at Elizabeth City last Thursday. LCDR Gerald A. Sappenfield from the Philippines spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Sappenfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Radford Collins. Mrs. Elvira Carson, T.C. Jones, Roy Jones, and Dale and Barbara Jones attended the Jones reunion at the home of Mrs. Mae Whitaker at Pinnacle Sunday June 9. Mrs. Michael Kelley, Micky Kelly and Jimmy Cashwell attended Black & Decker Day at White Lake Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. David Freeman and son Davie spent the weekend at Surf City. Mr. Freeman's parents of Madison spent the weekend also. Davie returned with his grandparents to Madison to spend the week. L.M. Chason returned home Tuesday after a two weeks stay at Highsmith Rainey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Paul Adams of Lumberton was a Sunday guest of Mrs. Allie K. Maxwell and Mrs. Flozelia Clardy. Mrs. Jim Maxwell and children Sally Lynn and Mary Monroe, Mr. E.B. Maxwell and children, Ellen and Robert, spent from Thursday until Sunday at Cherry Grove Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Randy Walker of Winter Haven, Florida are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Davis and daughter Margaret of Goodland Kansas spent last week with relatives in the community. Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Davis of High Point spent the week with relatives. Mr. nd Mrs. Wilbur Spears visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Livingston in White Oak Sunday. Debbie Dees and Teresa Beasley of Fayetteville are spending this week with their grandmother, Mrs. Chester Beasley.
