2^ HImJjL Mrs. Carlton Niven, Social Reporter, 875-3785 McPhaul - Britt Vows Spoken Thanksgiving Miss Elizabeth Jean Britt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Britt of Red Springs, became the bride of William Joseph McPhaul on Thanksgiving Day at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Red Springs. The Rev. Clyde Dunn heard the double ring vows at 3:00 p.m. The bridegroom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James L. McPhaul of Red Springs. Wedding music was presented by Martin Harris, organist, Larry Reynolds, soloist, and Mrs. Larry Reynolds, harpist. Honor attendants were Miss Martha Sue Graham of Salem, Va., cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Furman Humphrey. They wore long gowns of print voile with ivory lace trim, and carried colonial bouquets of carnations, daisies, star flowers and straw flowers in fall shades of gold. Bridesmaids were Miss Patricia Graham of Salem, Va., cousin of the bride. Miss Elizabeth Beverly, Miss Mary Susan McNeill and Miss Edpa Ray Mooney. Their dresses and flowers were identical to those of tne honor attendants. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of polyester chiffon and Chantilly lace with crystals, made with Gibson girl neckline and detachable chapel train. Her matching cathedral length mantilla, trimmed with Chantilly lace, covered a crown with white satin bow and lace. She carried a colonial nosegay of carna tions, gypsophila, and yellow and white miniature roses. James Dennis O'Briant served as best man. Ushers were James G. Britt, brother of the bride. William Russell Duncan, the bride's cousin, C. G. Arrington III. David Britt and J. A. Livingston. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents entertained with a reception in the church fellowship hall. After a wedding trip to the mountains: the couple will be at , home in Red Springs. The bride is attending Pembroke State University. The bridegroom, who attended Pembroke State U. and East Carolina University, is employed at Red Springs Motors Inc. WANTED - News for social page. Mrs. William Joseph McPhaul Luncheon, Shower Fete Miss Easterling Mrs. Jimmy McPhaul and her sisters, Mrs. Frances Donella and Martha Shaw Clark, entertained with a luncheon Saturday at the McPhaul home honoring Miss Deborah Easterling. Miss Easterling and David farmer are to be married on December 27. Guests were seated at small tables in the living room. The tables were covered with white linen and centered with yellow mums. Hostess gifts for Miss Easterling were a corsage of yellow mums and a set of cookwarc. Mrs. Fred Hendrix, Mrs. Neil McLean and Mrs. Sandy Barr were hostesses for a floating shower Saturday afternoon at the Hendrix home. Upon her arrival. Miss Easterling was presented a novelty corsage of small utensils. She received an electric fry pan from her hostesses. The 65 guests were served cake, nuts and punch. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stokes and family of Wilmington, visited her mother, Mrs. Herbert McKeithan, during the holidays. ARROW SHIRTS sizes 14V4 to 18 Class Of 1966 Holds Reunion Members of the class of 1966 of Hoke County High School got together Saturday night at the JFR Barn in Southern Pines for their tenth reunion. 92 members and guests attended. After dinner Benny Harward, master of ceremonies, jok charge of the program and presented awards. The class voted to give a donation to the Hoke County Library as a memorial to John Pratt, Jerry West and Barbara Lindsay, deceased members. Members plan to hold another reunion in five years. Miss Matthews Is Bride Of Donald J. Lizotte Miss Karen Dianne Matthews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hugh Matthews of Lilburn, Ga., and Donald Joseph Lizotte. son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Lizotte of Raeford, were married at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte. The Rev. William Henry Crouch officiated for the double ring ceremony. Wedding music was furnished by Dennis Stabler, organist, and Bobby Lockee, vocalist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory princess style gown with Venice lace flower trim. A Camelot cap held her cathedral-length veil which was edged with matching lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white miniature carnations, pink sweet heart roses, gypsophila and stepha notis. The maid of honor, Miss Alicia Spears of Charlotte, wore an empire-style dress in wine red and carried two long-stem pink roses and gypsophila. The bridesmaids, identically dressed, were Miss Mollis Matthews, sister of the bride. Miss Debra Shumate of Goldsboro, the bride's cousin, and Miss Kathy Lewis of Belle Mead, N.J., college roommate of the bride. Each one carried a pink rose with gypsophila. Warren Jeffords of Darlington, S.C., was best man. Ushers were William F. McFadyen of Raleigh, Dan Matthews of Charlotte, and Randy White of Lincolnton. The bride's parents were hosts for a reception in the church fellowship hall. After a wedding trip to Beech Mountain, the newlyweds will re side at Cambridge Arms Apart ments in Fayetteville. Parents of the bridegroom enter tained with a post-rehearsal dinner Friday at the Downtowner in Charlotte. The bride attended Sacred Heart College. The bridegroom received a B.A. degree in economics and business from Belmont Abbey Col lege. He is employed by the Fayetteville Police Department Tactical Squad.
