SlHUuxil Mrs. Carlton Niven, Social Reporter, 875-3785 Miss Calloway, Mr. McNeill Wedding Sunday Afternoon Miss Debra Faye Calloway, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Calloway was wed to Everette William McN;ill, II, Sunday after noon, February 1, at 2:30 in the Frist Baptist Church. The Rev erend Jack Mansfield officiated for the double ring ceremony. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Everette William McNeill of Rt. 1, Shannon. Music was presented by Lester Southern, organist, and William Daniels, soloist. Mr. Daniels sang the Wedding Prayer, The Lord's Prayer and One Hand, One Heart. The church was decorated with 'two baskets of mums and glads, green potted plant in the baptistry, and two seven-branch candlelabra. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal white gown of silk organza with full A-line skirt. The high neckline with yoke and long sleeves were trimmed with Venice lace and crystal pleating. The empire waist was accented with a bow in back and the skirt was accented with wide ruffle of crystal pleating and venice lace. Her chapel length double mantilla was edged with venice lace and held by a camelot cap of venice lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations, baby's breath and rust colored pom poms to match her attendants' dresses. Mrs. Nancy Morgan of Cary, served as her sister's matron of honor and Miss Cynthia McNeill of East Carolina, sister of the groom, served as maid of honor. They wore formal gowns of polyester with empire silhouette. The gowns had scoop necklines and peek - a ? boo backs. The rust gowns were accented at the collar with ivory cluny lace. The long sleeves had a wide ruffle at the waist, trimmed with ivory lace. They wore picture hats and carried bouquets of white pom pons babies breath and rust colored roses with off - white t streamers. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Larry Calloway, sister - in - law of the bride. Miss Terri Tucker, Miss Marie Hendrix, Miss Susan Bounds. Miss Barbara Douglas. k and Miss Anne Evers, all of Raeford. Their gowns and hats were identical to the honor at tendants and they carried bouquets of white pom pons , babies breath and otT - white streamers. The ring bearer was Jeff Morgan of Cary. nephew of the bride, and the flower girl was Mellody McNeill of Columbia, S.C.. cousin of the bridegroom. Honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Nancy L. Rhew of Durham. Misses Sharon Ashburn and Mary Nell Harward of Winston-Salem, Miss Sally Mac Johnson of East Carolina and Miss Debbie Leach of Boone. They wore long formal gowns and carried a single long stemmed white mum with pastel streamers to match their gowns. Mr. McNeill served as his son's best man. Ushers were Larry Calloway, brother of the bride, and Van McBryde, both of Raeford, Jerry Bruner of Shannon, cousin of the groom. Ronnie Bowen of Norcross, Georgia, cousin of the groom, William Daniels and Lin <aood Hayes of Lumber Bridge, and Jimmy McDiarmid of Red Springs. The mother of the bride was attired in a pink formal gown with crocheted bodice and soft flowing ffcw ing skirt and cumberbund of polyester with matching accessories and wore a white orchid corsage. The mother of the groom was attired in formal A line gown of copen blue polyester with jewel neckline and empire waist. The waist was accented with covered buttons and the sleeves extended into floor length panels. She wore silver accessories and a white orchid corsage. The bride's grandmother wore a long sleeve floral dress and a white carnation corsage, and the bride groom's grandmother wore a long sleeve smoke blue dress and a white carnation corsage. Immediately following the cere mony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall, given by the bride's parents and assisted by Mrs. Al Potts, Mrs. Mary Ruth Haire, Mrs. Edith McCall, Mrs. Jack Tucker, Mrs. Paul Livingston, I and Mrs. Melvin Ashburn. Intro ducing guests to the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy James and goodbyes were said to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ashburn. The bride's register was kept by Miss Linda Calloway of Rockingham, cousin of the bride. After a wedding trip, the couple will be at home at Route 1, Shannon. The bride is a graduate of Hoke County High School and a graduate Mrs. Everette William McNeill II of Sir Walter Beauty Academy of Fayetteville, and will be employed at Jean's Beauty Salon in Raeford. The groom is a graduate of Hoke County High School and attended N.C. State University and is employed in farming. Bridemaids' Luncheon The bridesmaids luncheon was given by the bride's mother in the Calloway home on Saturday. The dining room table was covered with white linen cloth and centered with a red and white valentine arrange ment where the bride's attendants and guests were seated. The bride was presented a corsage of red and white carnations. The menu in cluded turkey and dressing, ham, string beans, potato salad, cran berry salad, cherry tarts, and red velvet cake. Miss Calloway presented her attendants with gold chain neck laces which they wore in the wedding. Rehearsal Party Mr. and Mrs. Everette W. McNeill, parents of the bride groom, were hosts tor the rehearsal party at the Ramada Inn in Lumberton. The guests included members of the wedding party, families, and out of town visitors. Upon arrival, Miss Calloway was presented a corsage of white carnations. The 50 guests enjoyed a variety of hors doeuvres and champagne. The table was cen tered with an arrangement of red and white carnations. Out of town guests were from Fayetteville, Cary, Durham, Greensboro. Columbia, S.C., and Atlanta. Georgia. The bridegroom presented his attendants with gifts at this time. Couple Honored With Dinner Charles Maroney, Jr. and Judy Faulk were honored Saturday night with a dinner by Malcolm Culbreth at the Country Club of Johnston County. Co-hosts were Larry Culbreth and Miss Brenda Vause Those attending from Raeford were Mrs. Allyne Faulk, Clay Faulk, Mr. and Mrs. Rudyard Kipling Nash and Kip Maroney. The couple was presented with a crystal compote by the hosts. Personals Miss Debbie Leach of ASU, Boone spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Leach. Steve Hart of East Carolina spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hart. Mrs. Neil A. McDonald spent the weekend in Goldsboro in the home of her sisiter, Mrs. Claude Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. George King and family visited friends in Clarksville, Virginia, during the week-end. Art Show and Sale Paintings by Stephen M. March 7 bride-elect of Craig Stone, whose wedding will take place at the First Baptist Church in Raeford at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, was honoree at a series of bridal showers recently. On Friday evening, January 23, Mrs. Ellis Harris and Mrs. Robert Wilkes were hostesses at the home of Mrs. Wilkes for a china and crystal shower. Refreshments of bridal squares, nuts, mints, cookies and coffee were served. On Wednesday evening, January 28, Mrs. Johnnv Parham and Mrs. Robert Wagner, entertained at the home of Mrs. Wagner's mother, Mrs. Carl Stone on Jackson St.. at a miscellaneous floating shower. An arrangement of daisies and babies' breath centered the refresh ment table, and a color scheme of green and yellow were carried out in the refreshments of bridal squares, punch and mints. Around 20 guests showered the bride-elect. Miss Baker was given a corsage and a gift of crystal from the hostesses. On Friday evening, January 30, Miss Baker was again honoree at a miscellaneous shower when Mrs. Ralph Currie, aunt of the bride elect, entertained at her home on Route 1. Orange and yellow chrysanthe mums, flanked by yellow candles, adorned the refreshment table. Punch, bridal squares, nuts and mints were served. The honoree was given a corsage of yellow orchids. Officers' Club Bridge Scene The Officers' Club at Fort Bragg was the scene of a luncheon-bridge, when Mrs. Younger Snead and Mrs. Lawrence McNeill entertained the members of their club on Thursday of last week. After members were served a luncheon of their choice, ordered from the menu, bridge was played. At the conclusion of the game Mrs. Crawford Thomas, Sr. was awarded the high score prize. Rita Picklesimer and Joe Coward of Atlanta visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lentz over the weekend. Personals Miss Sarah Morris of Virginia Beach. Va. spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Sam Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Posey and Mrs. Lula Burner visited Mr. and Mrs, Russell Edwards in Dugspur. Va. and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Posey in Pinnacle, over the weekend. Mrs. Josephine Lasater. 1975 N.C. State Mother, returned to her home in Capitol Towers. Raleigh after a visit with Mrs. J.M. Andrews. On Tuesday. Mrs. H.L. Gatlin and Mrs. T.B. Upchurch entertained the Merit Mothers ot Hoke and Scotland counties in honor of Mrs. Lasater at the Gatlin home. Mrs. Richard Fountain of Rocky Mt. visited in the home of her mother. Mrs. Buck Blue, during the week-end. Mrs. Bill Lamont recently visited her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Monty Lamont in Chapel Hill. She accompanied them to South Carolina where they visited the home of Mrs. Monty Lament's grandmother, Mrs. McMahan in Seneca, and she visited in the home of a friend, Mrs. E.L. Bailes in Walhalla, S.C. Mrs. Clyde Upchurch. Sr. has returned after a visit in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mac McCleskey in Win ston-Salem. 0 " ?) B'rths Mr. and Mrs. Bill Krause of Raleigh announce the birth of a daughter, Marie Lynn on January 29 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Mrs. Krause is the former Karen Clifton of Raeford. Mr. and Mrs. Bill McPhaill and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy McPhaul, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gentry and Mark and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Phillips and Brad spent the weekend at Holden Beach. Freddie O'Neal spent the weekend with friends in Raleigh. He was joined by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George O'Neal of Englehart. Birthdays Kim Parker Kim Parker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Parker cele brated her 9th birthday with two parties last week. She was honored January 24 at her brownie meeting. On Friday. January 30, she was hostess to several friends for a slumber party. Guests were Kim Bounds, Sandy Knickens, Julie Vann, Stephanie Parker, Crystal Christopher, Tracy Parker and Wendy Parker.
