Miller Another special occasion has passed since our last report and of the many mothers I spoke with this week each conveyed the same message. "What a wonderful Mothers' Day it was and how beautiful the lore of our children makes us feel". God has certainly Blessed us with the care and love of such precious ones. One tender moment or hand written message more than compensates for tne daily chores and responsibilities of rearing children. "Yes dears', for all of mother's love there's no charge and for the love you give in return no amount of money could equal!" Ourchurches paid a Tribute To Mothers on Sunday. Sandy Grove Methodist's Sermon - "She and Her Household". A special Mother's Day Honor Roll Bulletin had been prepared listing names of mothers In Honor Of and who they were honored by. Also mother's in "Memory Of' and who they were remembered by. Ephesus Baptist Sermon was "A Mother's Day Message". Ephesus honored with gifts their "Oldest mother" - Mrs. Stanley Crawley, their "youngest mother" Mrs. Dar wood Tyner and gifts to the "mother of most children" went to: Mrs. Elizabeth Harris, Mrs. Linda Black, and Mrs. Ormond Black. The Sandy Grove Bicentennial Ingathering Saturday had a fine turn out in spite of the bad weather. The barbeque was com pletely sold out and even the yard sale, which was changed to an in ? door sale was a big success. The door prize, a beautiful hand made quilt was won by Mrs. Clellon McKenzie. Winners of the most outstanding Bicentennial costumes were: First place - Mrs. Ruby Beaslev in a blue and white dress with matching bonnet. Second place -Mrs. Donald Hendrix wear ing a yellow and white polka dot dress with apron and matching bonnet. Child's prize went to Angela Britt wearing a blue rose print dress with a white bonnet. The judges task was far from easy as all costumes were quite lovely and authentic. The first place prize was a cosmetic set and the second place prize was a shampoo and set donated by the Judy Ann Beauty Shop in Rockfish. Everyone re ported having a marvelous time.
