Awards , Gifts Given At Hoke Senior Dinner Hoke County High School's 1982 Senior Dinner was held Thursday night, bringing teachers and faculty together with the graduating students and the members of the County Board of Education and County Schools Supt. Raz Autry. Awards were presented the outstanding students who won them, and the students gave teachers, Principal Dr. Lenwood Simpson and Senior Class Counselor Eleanor Gentry gifts in appreciation of the help they have given the students. Senior members of the school's Chorus and Chorale sang, and Dr. Simpson gave the address. Class President Terence P. Malloy spoke for the graduating seniors. Pam Currie was mistress of ceremonies. Mrs. Gentry presented the awards to the winning students. These pictures were taken during the dinner, held in MacDonald Gymnasium. The following awards were given at the Senior Dinner. Mathematics: Highest percentile ranking of the students from our school that participated in the Math Contest at Campbell Uni versity - Wendy Clinard. Highest score on the Annual National Mathematics Test - David Deaton. Placed in the top Five of the students from our school partici pating in the tests sponsored by the North Carolina Mathematics League ? Dana Connell. Highest cumulative score on the five tests sponsored by the N.C. Mathematics League and given in Hoke High - Wendy Clinard. Highest grade-point average for four years of academic math - Rose Parish. Earl Hughes Oxendine, Jr. has received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, He received a Con gressional nomination from Con gressman Charlie Rose. Entrance requirements are based on aca demic, medical, and physical ap titude qualifications. Terence Malloy has been selected to attend the Naval Academy Preparatory School at Newport, R.l. At the end of one year, he will qualify for an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. And He Will Listen" Hoke fr Robeson Counties Service Personnel Maurick Bradley ( , Airman Maurick Bradley, son of O'Neal B. Bradley of 3812 Granada Ave.. Baltimore, and Inez H. Goff of Rt. 2, Raeford has been assigned to Shcppard Air Force Base. Texas after completing Air Force basic training. During the six weeks at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and 4 ceived special training in human relations. In addition, airman who com plete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Com munity College of the Air Force. The airman will now receive specialized instruction in the air craft maintenance field. Bradley is a 1976 graduate of Hoke County High School.
