Mr. and Mrs. James C. Wood Anniversary celebrated Mr. and Mrs. James G. Wood were honored Sunday, March 18, on their fortieth wedding anniver sary. The couple and their guests gathered at the Little Whale Restaurant for a party given by their children, Mrs. Peggy Carr, Mrs. Jane Strother and Jimmy Wood. After a dinner with family members, many friends and neighbors dropped by to offer con gratulations. School personnel have conference The North Carolina Association of Educational Office Personnel held its thirty-third annual conference March 14-17. Donye Dockery Dockery-Bell Mr. and Mrs. Mack Leo Dockery announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Donye Dockery of Raeford to Sgt. Timothy Wayne Bell of Cincin nati, Ohio. The bride-elect is a graduate of Hoke County High School, and is attending Central Piedmont Com munity College, Charlotte, NC majoring in Computer Operating. The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Rodger Bacon Catholic School for Boys, Cincin nati, Ohio. He is now serving in the United States Air Force sta tioned at Griffis Air Force Base, Rome, New York. A wedding is planned for April 14, 1984 at Freedom Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Birthdays Edith Butler Edith Mae Butler was honored on her fifty-first birthday March 11, with a surprise party held at the home of her son and daughter-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Butler. Guests were served punch, chips and birthday cake. Mrs. Butler then opened her gifts. Guests included John W. Butler, Sandie and April Butler, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Parks Jr. of Chapel Hill spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Julian Parks. Terrie Elaine Albertson Engagement Mr. and Mrs. Arliss M. Albert son of Beulaville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ter rie Elaine, of Greenville, to Paul M. Livingston, also of Greenville. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Livingston of Raeford. The bride-elect received an undergraduate and graduate degree in elementary education from East Carolina University. She is a teacher with Martin Coun ty Schools. The prospective bridegroom graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in in dustrial technology. He is employed by Roberk Corporation in Kinston. The wedding is planned for April 21 at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville. Senior citizens group celebrates anniversary The Senior Citizens of Cameron Heights Nutrition Site celebrated their ninth anniversary March 22. County Commissioner Cleo Bratcher was the guest speaker. After lunch, ice cream and cake was served. The cake was specially baked by Mrs. Nettie McDuffie. The group acknowledged Mrs. Jennie Morrison, Site manager. Mrs. Morrison has been manager of the unit since its beginning. Woodmen hold meet at Haire residence Woodmen of the World, Lodge 6179, held its regular meeting March 13 at the home of Mrs. Mary R. Haire. Fifteen members and Field Representative Jack Knowles were present. During the business part of the meeting, Woodmen members were given toothbrushes to sell. The funds will be donated to an or phanage supported by the Woodmen of the World. The next meeting of WOW will be April 10. All members are urged to attend and support their frater nity lodge. Miss Purdie guest of honor at shower Miss Valerie Purdie was honored with a miscellaneous shower March 24 at the home of Mrs. Jesse Timmons. Hostesses were Mrs. Timmons and Mrs. William B. Purdie. Twenty guests were present. Guests, the honoree and her fiajice, James A. Leach, were serv ed cake, mints, nuts, chicken salad, punch and coffee. Miss Myers is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Myers of Lexington and Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boyles of Shannon. Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. Mabel Bostic, Mrs. Pauline Bruner, Mrs. Betty McNeill, Mrs. Debra McNeill, Mrs. Donna O'Briant, and Mrs. Bertha Webster. Upon arrival, Miss Myers was presented with a corsage of gladioli. The gift table and refreshment tables were decorated with ar rangements of daffodils, narcissi and daisies. Refreshments of cookies, mints and punch were served, and Miss Myers received many wedding gifts. Special guests were the bride elect's mother, Mrs. Edith Myers and Mrs. Hester Boyles, mother of the prospective bridegroom.
