MOMs IN TOUCH consists of two or more mothers with children in the same school, who meet once a week for one hour to pray for their children and the school they attend. The goal is for every Hoke County school to have a Moms In Touch group praying for the teachers, administration and students. For more information about programs offered or to join the partnership, call 875-6649. HOKE COUNTY 4-H is the youth development organization of the N.C. Coopera tive Extension Service. Four-H is open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 19. Community clubs are located throughout the county and meet once a month at various locations and times. Ongoing community clubs include: Goof Troop, Little Helping Hands, Lucky Leaders, Wolfpack, Fleece ‘N Fun, West Hoke Blue Dolphins, South Side, West Side and South Hoke Lions. She shares that honor with Margaret Allen, kindergar ten assistant. Both are pictured with George Marston, principal. Virginia Moon, a first grade teacher, and Margaret Allen, kinder garten assistant, were chosen team members of the month for April at Sandy Grove Elementary. Moon is new to Sandy Grove, but not to Hoke County Schools. She be gan in 1991 as a third grade tutor at JW McLauchlin with George Marston, now principal at Sandy Grove, who was a third grade teacher at the time. Moon later recieved her teaching de gree and taught for several years at Rockfish Hoke. “Mrs. Moon is a great teacher, team player and a true role model for our first graders,” Marston says. Allen has been with the Ho Schools for 25 years. She has been assistant with Sandra Johnson, ki dergarten teacher for the last 15 yea Allen began work at Hoke Cour High School, but worked at Sou Hoke the majority of her years.
