The schooner C. G. White, of San
Francisco, was lost last week on the
coast of Alaska. Ten of the crew were
lost. Many were frozen to death
while lashed in the rigging, and oth
ers were drowned. The survivors

number of other refugees on board,
passed the Hobe forts she was fired
on, and seven of those on board of
