Drum Hill WSCS In December Meet The W.S.C.S. of Drum Hill, held its meeting at Savage’s Church Wednesday. Opening twayer was given by the pastor, iRev.v C. W. Guthire. A Christmas program was suc cessfully carried out. Study books, “Christ after Chaas,” was bought for the year. A free will offering was given which amounted to $1.65. Their father was killed in the European theater. They appear to be cutting their teeth on bonds. Gates PTfl Presents Christmas Program I Gates. — The Gates Parent Teacher Association held its De cember meeting Tuesday night in the school auditorium with a large attendance. A Christmas program was pre sented by the first, second and third grades, directed by Mrs. Fran Elleanor, home room teacher. Other features of the meeting were the enrollment of new members, recognition of grade mothers and the awarding of the i attendance prize. The prize was awarded to the first, second and ! third grades. t Mrs. C. V. Cross presided over 1 the meeting and welcomed the new members and visitors. I A social hour was enjoyed. Turner And Lois By rum Wed A marriage of interest was solemnized Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock in Elizabeth City when Miss Lois Marie Byrum. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Baker F. Byrum of Corapeakc, became the bride of Haywood Austin Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Edward Turner of Gates. The ring ceremony was used. The bride wore a green wool gaberdine suit with black ac cessories and a corsage of red j roses. The bride was unattended. The couple will make their home with the groom’s parents near Gates. REYNOLDSON W.M.U. HAS SPECIAL SERVICE Eure.—The W. M. S. of Rey noldson Church observed the Lottie Moon Christmas offering with a program at the church Thursday afternoon of last week.
