Every thing Is In readiness tor the antl-Goebel Democratic Slate Convention,' which Is to be called to order tomorrow afternoon In the Cuautaquar Auditorium for the purpose of nominating a. full Democratic State, ticket in opposition to the Demo cratic State ticket nominated at Louis- ylllein June,, ( ' . ' . ". A telegram from Major P. P. Johnson who was nntll June chairman of the Democratlo Stste Central Committee, ssys he will be present to call, the con vention to order if his health permits. Delegates began arriving today, and this afternoon Captain James B. Clay, who has charge of the work of organising the new movement, called about 40 of them together lu conference. After a two hours exchange of views 4n private they adjourned, and the ststement was given out by Captain Clay that the con ference bad agreed on placing a full ticket In the field. - ' ' 1 ' U has been suggested by many antl- Goebel Democrats that only candidates for Governor and Lleutaat-Governor be named, as Goebel aad his candidates for Lieutenant-Governor, W, H. Beckham were the only ones whom the op position cared to defeat . But In the ' conference this afternoon It was agreed that "the entire Goebel ticket Is permeated with Qoebelism" and that the men composing It should go down In defeat. Colonel Terser, of Montgomery aoun ty, offered a suggestion that may be adopted. . He said ia the conference that after the convention nominated Its ticks the Intended to make a motion to withdraw the entire ticket If Goebel and bis fellow candidates would withdraw, and then hold a third State convention to nominate a new. ticket, so thst all Democrats might join In supporting It, snd the Republican ticket be defeated. He admits he does not believe Goebel or any of his candidates will accept the challenge.
